Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool & Wolverine at the BoX office

I'll be honest, even I didn't expect it to be this big. It will be interesting to see come February if it succeeds in restoring confidence in the Marvel brand across the board.
Captain America and Thunderbolts* should be able to hit the $100 million mark in North America.

The Fantastic 4, though in July... the good news is it would likely move again since they just begun filming. So it might eventually not open in the same month as Superman and Jurassic World.

I can immediately think of one that I'm sure is higher. Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.

The Marvels: 84.5 domestic / 199.7 worldwide
Avengers Endgame: 858.3 domestic / 2.7 BILLION wordlwide

Oh right, I forgot to consider just how high Endgame's box office was.

That Monday suggests there’s even more gas in the tank than previously thought! It’s going from strength to strength.
Its a lot of fun following the box office on this one as the marketing from Ryan and Hugh has not let up since the films release and perhaps even increased since, I wonder if they have anything special planned for crossing the $1B line......

but they are giving us loads of behind the scenes and secret bits already which has been a lot of fun.

$900+ tomorrow!! Wow this is going to fly past $1B not just get to it.

Yep, have to revise final predictions up again. Looking forward to seeing how well it holds domestically and overseas by the end of next weekend. Looks like we’re in for surprisingly good second week weekdays.

Deadline starting the bidding at 50 for next weekend.

That must be getting up there on the 3rd weekend rankings. I’ll look it up.

$50m would take it to 15th all time but in some great company.

That would be enough to take it past Joker by the end of the weekend or be damn close, to the R rating crown WW.

All sounds like good news still and very tempted this weekend to go for one last viewing as it feels a while since I saw it already twice and to help celebrate the $1B landmark for Deadpool.

It would be yet another consecutive good hold after a ridiculously big open. This could easily have fallen away more even without poor WOM. It fees like you there will be many who are planning to go back over the next few weeks.

The R rating crown is small fry to this film at this point. :D. Domestically it’s an absolute monster. Non-Avengers MCU films shouldn’t be seeing numbers like this. Only NWH & BP have.

The MCU Xmen reboot can only dream of these numbers......People dont seem to care about the new post Endgame MCU characters...

Yeah clearly its struck a chord with fans even more than the last two with its staying power this time and that HUGE opening obviously gave it a massive head start this time out. I think as well its a movie that gets better with repeat viewing, I think quite a few, myself included, didnt quiet realize what this movie was going to be about being less MCU focused and more Fox-verse goodbye focus, getting Hugh included was also the masterstroke that probably swayed things for many.

Yeah, it wouldn’t be half the event without adding Hugh as a co-star. They are so good together too, huge natural chemistry. This could have been the last we’d have seen of these 2 but now Feige will be throwing Scrooge McDuck’s gold coins at them both.

When the dust has finally settled on this one its going to be finishing very high amongst some large MCU films and even above some Avenger films which is mad given the R rating. Kind of surprised that Civil War is so low on the list though, would have though that would have been closed to the 600 range at least.

I think if it was called Avengers: Civil War, there would have been a huge difference. It only earned less than 50 million than Age of Ultron.

Captain America 2 didn't even hit $270 million, so those numbers are still a huge improvement for a 3quel.

Yeah your probably right as I consider Civil War my favourite Avengers movie when it actually isnt called as one. :funny:

There was also only 1 year gap between Age of Ultron and Civil War. I think it performed as best as it could have.

Yeah, it could beat the original Avengers. Sounds amazing that it could be anywhere near Infinity War.
