Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool & Wolverine News and General Discussion Thread

Well I'm finally seeing it in a couple of hours. Kept myself spoiler-free up until this morning I saw some footage from Comic Con I really should not have seen.
It's funny/crazy how they spoiled things themselves. They waited so long, they couldn't wait a couple of days at least? Jesus Christ.

Watched this movie earlier tonight. It has faults, and it's definitely dumb in some areas as to be expected with a character like Deadpool, but goddamn this is the most fun I've had watching an MCU movie since No Way Home. Also the emotional core of this movie really worked for me and a certain sequence in the climax genuinely got me teary-eyed. Really enjoyed it and I'm interested to see where things go from here in the multiverse side of things.

Yeah this was a blast. Most fun I've had in theaters in a long time.

The Lie detector test with Hugh and Ryan for Vanity Fair is hilarious, might be a bit sweary to post here but is bleeped out, check it out if you want a good chuckle, what a pair of legends.

I had a really fun time in the cinema seeing it, and in terms of enjoyment I'd say it's the best I've seen in the MCU for a while. I also think most complaints are very valid, the story is not great and only really an excuse to pair these 2 characters together, I would also say there's not much depth or substance to this movie. But it's a fun ride with laughs, action and some cool cameos. Even though most of these didn't surprise me there was at least one that got me. Some good chemistry and scenes between Wolverine and Deadpool and then I also liked Matthew MacFadyen (one of my favorites in Succession) as the over-the-top bad guy.

Overall it's one of these movies I would hesitate to call great, but I had a very fun 2 hours in the cinema, I'm not gonna rush out to see this again but that's kind of the bar for most MCU movies for me. As long as they offer me a fun 2 hours in the cinema and I can get what I need from one viewing, I don't need these films to be "movie of the year" contenders.

If rumors are true that we'll see different multiverse versions of Wolverine as well, I think it would be hilarious if we see a CGI'd exaggerated short version of Hugh Jackman as a reference to his height in the comics.

Just quoting this old message of mine, for no reason at all.

Aww that is a very sweet sentiment.

I would like to see Hugh in one of his games. I played Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding.

This was a damn blast, honestly. Not perfect, but the most fun I've had at the theater this year. Hugh, once again, proved why nobody can replace him. And those cameos, especially one in particular, had my theater going nuts!

This is why I feel forced to watch movies on opening day even when I don't want to. Its literally impossible to avoid spoilers. Even mainstream media will put it on the front page.
Just clicking on You Tube will literally spoil every cameo or ending without even having to watch the video, I know its click-bait to grab attention but damn some channels have no shame, its still the first weekend!! So glad I made the decision to see this on the opening preview night.

It's nice to see Hugh back but he did look very haggard at times in the close-ups! I heard one of the people next to me remark 'God, he looks so old now'... He's only 55.
