"A crew member on the new BATMAN movie has been killed in an onset accident. The special effects expert was following the Batmobile on a racetrack in Surrey, England when the car he was in crashed into a tree. It is believed the dead man was trying to figure out how to film a car chase scene. The unnamed victim, a married father of two, died at the scene of the crash. Police and the Health and Safety experts are investigating the incident.

None of the film's cast including Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Heath Ledger saw the accident. Batman: The Dark Knight is released next year."

Wow, that's terrible. I wonder if this will halt production any (not meant to be a selfish complaint in any way, just curious as to what repercussions an event like this has on a film).

Oh dear. Many condolensces.

I'm just glad it's not Michael Caine.

My heart goes out to him, and my heart goes out to the family and friends of this young man.

SHH should mention this on their site. Truly sad that some one died to make us happy.

Hearts and thoughts are with his family.

Not to sound like a duche, but I'm sure it won't affect the film. After all, thats what contracts are for.

But still, very sad. :csad:

My prayers to his family and friends.

Condolences to him and his family as well...

Once the name the individual we'll be able to tell if any at all delays would result from this... but it's interesting the Batmobile was on a track at Surrey... I don't think we knew this before now... not to exploit the situation or anything.

this is really terrible, my heart goes out to his family.

callous as this may sound, dark knight is starting to have the makings of a truly classic film, like the exorcist almost

A guy died on Spider-Man 2 also. This sure sucks, no-one should ever have to die just for the sake of making entertainment, but it won't Affect the film at all.

the two disc edition of Batman Begins has Batmobile chase scene/stunt rehearsals on a closed racetrack in the special features..
this is probably what was going on when he hit the tree, and they rehearse the scenes like this to avoid this sort of incident on the set.
major sadness.

Very sad to read....pretty rare to read about an accidental death on a movie set these days, the safety standards are usually so high, must have been a real freak accident.

All the best to the guys family and friends ofcourse...but now this gets me worried cuz it already seems like Hong Kong is a bit scared about TDK and their time filming there as you all know. Do the rest of you think this incident is going to have an effect on the Hong Kong community?

Exactly but it just shows us there is another chase scene that will have to be filmed in London we don't know about yet.

That's very sad. D: His family has my condolences as well.

Really sad. Unfortunate when things like this happen for sake of entertainment, nothing but respect for this stunt-men out there risking they're life.

R.I.P.

more then 150 milions invested in this movie.
this movie will not stop filming if bale is alive.
