The Dark Knight Death on the set! =(

Back in the day, there was a really thorough article in Rolling Stone that hashed out the history. Landis' behavior was egregious.

Yeah, I've never watched one of his movies since then. The fact that someone would do something so insane for the sake of a movie or his own ego is astounding. Just no regard for human life. He even signed autographs for the jury when he was acquitted.

Come to think of it, maybe Landis would've made a good Joker.

I remember reading stories about Landis using LIVE ROUNDS on a set for another movie. That's just insane.

Wow what a shock. Thats some terrible news. My condolences. It is just a reminder how dangerous things can get on a movie set.

I vaguely remember that, too.

He's like the O.J. or directors. Maybe you can't expect him to ever care, but you wish at least he'd learn.

Sad news. My condolences to his family.

R.I.P to the stuntman.

Goes to show you hollywood ain't fake at times.

R.I.P its sad that this kind of thing can still happen in modern film-making.

Just saw this article on the BBC website. Tragic when something like this happens. :( You just don't know with cars...

Condolence to those who were close to him and knew him well.

A guy died on Spider-Man 2 also.

Didn't realize that. Do you have any links for info on that incident? Knowing more about that incident might shed some light on what to expect in this case.

"A crew member on the new BATMAN movie has been killed in an onset accident. The special effects expert was following the Batmobile on a racetrack in Surrey, England when the car he was in crashed into a tree. It is believed the dead man was trying to figure out how to film a car chase scene. The unnamed victim, a married father of two, died at the scene of the crash. Police and the Health and Safety experts are investigating the incident.

None of the film's cast including Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Heath Ledger saw the accident. Batman: The Dark Knight is released next year."

Awful news, to be sure. But is this really "spoiler" material? Shouldn't this thread be in the non-spoiler forum, along with my instructions to make your own TDK-inspired bat-cowl?

BTW, can anyone confirm if Hell exists or not? 'Cuz I'm pretty sure I'm going there when I die.

RIP to the man and condolences to the family.

This may halt production, but only for a day or so.

Basically Nolan will have a hell of a headache now because he'll be hearing from some very angry Studio execs most likely. Unless it was a unanomous "freak accident" vote on the set. If theres an investigation though, someone is looking to assign guilt. Which is never good.

production may be stopped or slowed down for a very short while, as stated above, if not due to the loss of a crew member then due to the stunt in question not being completely worked out (obviously), plus the loss of a camera vehicle (possibly one of those mercedes with the camera crane attachments?).

My heart and condolences go out to his family. We're sorry for your loss.

I give out my compassion and condolences to his family and loved ones. May your soul watch the dark knight from the heavens at a front row reat. Man this sucks, Nolan needs to stop doing realistic crap it's just not safe son. This movie better surpass batman begins and they better not messed this up seriously, we have live fire happening, hong kong being afraid, one person has died already and heath legder skate boarding. This movie better make more money then spiderman now that would be satisfying! SUPERMAN DOOMSDAY ROCKS!!!! and I'm a superman hater lol.

Poor guy. My condolences to his family

"S**t happens" is always a factor, but it sucks when someone has to die from it. Top Gun was dedicated to Art Scholl, I wonder if TDK will be dedicated to this guy?

I dont know the guy but i feel sorry for his family loss and get by. I hope that they find out what happened and put to rest and for a short time take time to do what is needed.. The movie can wait if they do for a week or so.

RIP 2007

Wow, thats terrible! I think theyll dedicate the film to him.

A welder died building a set for Spiderman 1. Seems that a crane fell over and hit the platform he was working on. I couldn't find anything about an investigation or the family suing or whatever. No filming was going to be done for several weeks on the site, but it was still shut down for several days.

There probably will be an least an investigation, but it'll be different with this incident since from what we know, it was a practice stunt run that they were gearing up to film. Still, cars can be unpredictable so it's just as likely that it simply was an accident and not gross negligence.

The next time they test out that scene, they need to damn well make sure it's a single man with no known family.

A guy died on Spider-Man 2 also. This sure sucks, no-one should ever have to die just for the sake of making entertainment, but it won't Affect the film at all.
I thought it was the first one.

Wow. That's a shocking thing to read. The last piece of news about The Dark Knight I'd ever expect to hear is a death on the set. That really is a shame and I can't imagine how hard it must be on his family and friends. They'll be in my prayers. When you here things like this, Batman isn't important anymore.

This is awful, condolences to the family and friends of the crew member.
