Deathstroke: Is he in Justice League? If so, who is playing him?

someone mentioned Jason Statham for the role. After watching Mechanic: resurrection, his career could use a resurrection.

Gone on record dissing the genre as a whole - says he prefers to do old-school action. Anyways, MEG has potential.

Joe Manganiello is more or less completely unknown outside the USA, other than to True Blood fans. Nobody has a clue who he is here in the UK, certainly. Make of that what you will.

I'm from the UK & I know of him. I've never seen an episode of True Blood either.

If Jason Statham were to be cast as Deathstroke, I probably wouldn't go see the movie. That would kill any enthusiasm for this character, because it would mean that WB/Ben/Snyder aren't taking Deathstroke seriously.

It doesn't matter whether he plays a hero or a villain. He's the EXACT same character in everything. The only difference is whether he's shooting at criminals or innocent people.

You know, a good way to tie Slade to Bruce would be through Wintergreen and Alfred. The latter two could have served together in the SAS. Alfred would go on to be the Wayne's head of security while Wintergreen mentored Slade when he became a private contractor.

How about Black Mask? Maybe Deathstroke will be hired by the Black Mask instead of the Fearsome Hand of four to kill Red Hood like in the Under the Red Hood animated movie. I would love that and I think Affleck and Johns are working on a plan to introduce Jason Todd/Red Hood. They have teased him already and I don't think they will pass up this opportunity. We will get Black Mask, The Joker, Riddler and Deathstroke. I would love an Under the Red Hood adaptation.

Gerard Butler and Karl Urban would be good

Karl Urban is in Thor: Ragnarok so he's out, but Butler could be a decent choice. Lord knows he needs a career boost.

If Manganiello is Deathstroke, I imagine we see a lot of him without the mask/armor. This was a guy whose character was kept on 4 extra seasons of True Blood not because he was important, but because he was hot.

Okay, I would argue that people knew of Chris Pratt before Guardians due to Parks and Recreation. It wasn't exactly some small time show that got cancelled early. Not Guardians or Jurassic World big, but he was known.

That's probably why the most I've ever liked Statham in a movie was in Snatch and Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, where he wasn't playing a bada** action hero.

YES!. This is what I want and was thinking. I don't care for Riddler though.
But hopefully Black Mask, Deathstroke, The Joker and Red Hood appear in the solo film.

The pro of a Statham Deathstoke would be a great fit in terms of physicality and demeanour but the con would be that he'd have to be either a Cockney or a really iffy-accented American (anyone who's seen his attempt in 'The One' knows what I'm talking about - it was that bad they actually seemed to drop the accent half way throug the movie). I like Statham and am looking forward to MEG but I dont think I'm prepared for that, tbh.

Well...True Blood was the highest rated show on HBO until Game of Thrones came along, so millions of people at least know who JM is from that.

And everyone knew Chris Evans because they *****ed about him being the Human Torch AND Captain America.
