Deathstroke: Is he in Justice League? If so, who is playing him?

Deadshot

Deadpool

That's a whole lot of dead names there and two of them will be in the same universe

Haha yeah he said he turned it down for that Pee-Wee Herman thing.

I couldn't remember which movie it was, so thanks. I remember this too

Don't forget about Deathlok

i like the costume other than the fact that head looks slightly too big for my liking.

Yayyy, I tried starting a casting thread for this in DC movies, but got no love.
Sadness. :waa:

Anyway, I don't know who is playing him, but I know who I'd like

- Scott Adkins, who could easily pull off the moves and with a little grooming could handle the look.

or

- Michael Jai White (who's quite underrated as an actor, as well as a master of ass-kicking)

Ron Perlman and Steven Lang totally have the look, but could never pull of Slade's amazing agility, speed and grace.

I've seen this:

http://screenrant.com/deathstroke-justice-league-casting-actors-batman-solo-movie/

And I think it's got some pretty solid choices ( Tom Hardy ? Yeah, I think he's too big now, but who knows. Clive Owen ? Hmmmm

Keanu Reeves is actually pretty decent as a villain (seen Man of Tai Chi ? the man kicks ass and can do nasty really well).

I'm a Keanu fan, so I could totally live with a Keanu Deathstroke.

Gerard Butler and Karl Urban would be good - although again, not sure how convincing with the fight moves ( I mean, both of them can do stunt fighting more than passably, but Deathstroke is probably the best fighter in the DC universe (comparable skill level to Batman but with a little bit of super strength and agility to give him the edge - now a movie Captain America (who's superhuman, I started a thread in the Cap forum, and pretty much all the Marvel fans agree) vs Deathstroke would be an epic battle ( although I guess I have to admit that Cap v Bucky has been pretty epic, hell Bucky vs Slade, if both were armed would be beyond epic......

okay I'm getting off topic - whoever does Deathstroke will need to be convincing as a superhumanly skillfull combatant, combining grace, power and ruthlessness - imagine Batfleck's warehouse scene x 10 on the brutality.

Man, I like the look of Deathstroke, I just hope the writing for him is decent enough (and the fight choreography is suited to the character's abilities).

It was a shot in the arm, so to speak, for my faith in DC films (after seeing the incredibly average Suicide Squad ).

Read a suggestion before on another thread that they should go the Deadpool route and use form fitting material for the mask as opposed to [what is effectively] a hard plastic helmet which makes the head bigger; a suggestion that I thoroughly endorse.

Billy Wintergreen --> Alfred Pennyworth

Billionaire --> billionaire

World's Greatest Assassin --> World's Greatest Detective

Pushes family away --> pushes family away

Prep master --> prep master

Scares the **** out of the JL --> scares the **** out of the JL

Deathstroke is Batman that grew up on the wrong side of the tracks.

Technically, wouldnt Wrath be the Batman that grew up on the wrong side of the tracks? :cwink: (if anything, I've always seen Deathstroke as Captain America on the wrong side of the tracks)

But yeah, Deathstroke is def more Batman than Deadshot - how anyone could confuse them is beyond me.

Agreed, in certain stories deathstroke was portrayed as sort of an evil batman who attempted to corrupt Grayson.

I hadn't really thought about who I'd like to see play Deathstroke even though I'm pumped to see the character on the big screen, I also am aware it's probably someone jumping to massive conclusions with Joe Manganiello's name being fired about, but he'd actually be a pretty perfect casting at least from a visual standpoint if you give him & eyepatch & dye his hair.

Similar age & height to Affleck, always seems to be in shape.

Joe Manganiello is more or less completely unknown outside the USA, other than to True Blood fans. Nobody has a clue who he is here in the UK, certainly. Make of that what you will.

K? I'm sure the same could be said for Cavill, Momoa, Ezra, Fisher and Gal pre-DCEU.. And pretty much every actor in HW before they got their breakout role. Deathstroke could be Manganiello's.

Magic Mike is a quite popular movie. Not to mention he is married to a very famous woman and together they are one of the most attractive celebrity couples.

I think he is waaaay more popular than Cavill was when he was cast as Superman. I just knew him because of The Tudors.

I don't believe that's entirely true, some of my wife's friends never watched True Blood and they know who he is cause of Magic Mike. Also I know loads of people who did watch True Blood and for sure know who he is due. He's also known by some people I know cause of How I Met Your Mother and some cause he appeared on WWE TV. I'm from the UK aswell let's not forget.

Also Cavill was even more of an unknown yet he happened to get the part of Superman. Think you're letting your own personal feelings against the casting cloud your judgement.

Seriously maybe the people don't know him by name but print a photo of the guy (preferably shirtless) and show it to people on the street, I assume at least 75% of women will know who he is and then add the guys who were forced by them to watch MM, they'll know too :funny:

I have never seen True Blood and I know Manganiello as Brad from HIMYM.

someone mentioned Jason Statham for the role. After watching Mechanic: resurrection, his career could use a resurrection.

Nah, trust me - an awful lot of women (and men, if they were dragged by their woman to watch the movie in the cinema) in the UK know him from the Magic Mike films. Maybe there might not be name recognition, but they would certainly recognise him when they saw him.
