Days of Future Past Deleted Scenes Thread

I was also wondering since Kitty is injured badly and exasuted, how much more could she hold on after Rogue absorbs here power. Does she die too(before the Sentinels)?

How does Rogue taking Kitty's powers put a stop on the clock if the Sentinels are still coming to kill them all? Did anyone even think about Kitty's injury in those last moments? I thought, they're all dead anyway, those Sentinels are here.

The Rogue sequence would have given some needed future scenes and a mission similar to that in the comic. Plus Rogue.

Exactly. The Stop Clock answer is BS. I never once thought Kitty was in danger when i was watching the movie both time i saw it! lol.

She died when the Sentinels came in.

Exactly what I thought when I heard Simon say that. It doesn't stop the clock at all, the Sentinels are still outside killing off their friends and trying to get into the temple!

I may be wrong but my suspecion are coming back to temple with rogue may have been how sentinles find temple and magneto going outside to work with Storm, colossus, and new mutants In defending temple.

I also wonder if Iceman was suspose to die before the escaped with rogue and
they had to give him a ndew death In reshoots.

^You're correct.

Nice to know.

I can understand why they cut it even though i would have liked to see more of OT cast.Especilly since we don't know If we will ever see as many of them again
as we did In DOFP.

Yeah it's very obvious that Iceman at the temple was added in as a reshoot. He's the last to go down, and goes down meaninglessly, almost off-screen!

What was the mission in the comic similar to the Rogue scene?

I agree with the first paragraph.

Though I think a scene of Rogue being captured or being experimented could have been included in the first few scenes of the movie when Prof X was narrating so Rogue wouldn't feel like an afterthought or a last-minute addition to the movie.

Also the mutants rescuing Rogue could have led the Sentinels into tracing their hideout. So its not totally unnecessary to the story.

Not unnecessary, but we can all agree it works without it. Although I would have preferred a bigger end for Iceman rather than "oops I've been melted"

It diffuses tension to have your dying character replaced by another. Even with the looming Sentinels, it's a moment to take a breath that would ease their circumstances. I want to see the Rogue sequence badly, in an extended cut too, but I understand their choice completely.

I think the sequence could have been worked in better if they pushed the future stuff forward a bit. This extra sequence would unbalance the last act a bit imo, but there's a long stretch where we don't cut back from the 70's in the middle. The only thing that confuses me about the Rogue sequence is X/Magneto's reasons for finding her. Surely they don't fly off to rescue her that far along? Why didn't they do it sooner?

I honestly forgot Kitty was injured until they mentioned it again in passing but I didn't really feel or think that the mission was in danger because she was losing blood. Maybe if the Rogue scenes were in, I would have paid more attention to the fact that Kitty was injured. Because she was actually dying in that version. And to answer why not rescue Rogue earlier? It would seem her location is heavily guarded and the mission had Iceman killed so it's not an easy task.

It just strikes me as odd that our heroes would sit on the knowledge that one of their own is being held by the enemy, and they'd only attempt to rescue her when she's useful.

I would hope they went to the mansion for another reason and discovered her there. Then all would be well.

As the author of one useless petition, I can't be arsed to do another, but it's tempting to jump on this. They don't do a lot but can gather interest, and these days studios are more receptive to social media. I'm interested to see if the ASM2 petition leads anywhere, because it really took off and now there's tons of fans tweeting Marc Webb directly.

It was explained why they didn't rescue her earlier.

Yes, an early draft...from...someone. :ninja:

And why didn't they fetch her earlier?

Iceman said they already tried but the place is too heavily guarded. The other X-Men weren't aware that she's alive though. They managed to get in because Professor X knows secret tunnels under the mansion and leads Magneto and Iceman through them telepathically.

That actually sounds pretty cool.
