Days of Future Past Deleted Scenes Thread

Is there any more lines for Bishop SAUspartan? This is exactly the type of stuff I wanted to see in the film, but didn't get. I really hope they filmed his dialogue but cut it so we could get an extended cut or at the very least deleted scenes.

EDIT: I think they did film it because this image matches part of the original script that SAUspartan posted above:

MAGNETO
Let’s see if there’s any metal in
the group...

Magneto raises a hand, and...ALL OF THE METAL starts to SHAKE on the mutants, RATTLING, revealing them. WHHM! BLINK appears right behind Magneto with a sharp stick pressed firmly to his neck. SNNKT! Logan snaps out a CLAW.

I just back from seeing the film a second time, and I saw Blink sharpening the same knife on a stone briefly during the exposition scene when Xavier meets up with Bishop's team.

Would've been nice to see those lines and scenes from the future mutants. I know they're short, but it still adds a sense of characterization to them.

Out of the new mutants in the future from the original script, Bishop had the most lines, like a LOT! But I understood why they removed most of his lines. And Blink was not even present there, from what I remember, her name was only written in the first scene with Warpath.

Is this original script available online, or is it some kind of leaked illegal thing?

He has a few more lines in the original script which help define him as the leader of the group of mutant survivors. He's dangerous, his first encounter with the X-Men suggests that he would be willing to kill a fellow mutant if need be:

XAVIER
Enough mutant blood has been shed.

BISHOP
We will be the judge of that.

His personality is very close to Wolverine's; he's distrustful, gruff and sarcastic.
sad reading that, I felt Bishop needed some development, being the character he is, so iconic.

I wish Bishop would've gotten more too, especially since he was being played by an actor of Omar Sy's caliber. Hopefully they'll keep Sy, Bingbing and Booboo for more appearances because the three of them were just spot on with their casting. (Even if Blink's ethnicity was changed to be Chinese)

The weird and slightly frustrating thing is that the things I felt were missing from the movie - an action scene in the middle and more development for the future characters such as Storm and Bishop - are all in the deleted scenes in the leaked script.

The Rogue rescue sequence and some of the future dialogue would have made this movie PERFECT!

When I saw the film, I wasn't thinking about Rogue being absent but I was thinking there was a long stretch without action and that it needed pepping up at that point, especially as the man along from me yawned and was asked if he was bored.

My other thought - totally unaware at the time of these deleted scenes in the script - was that Bishop and Storm needed more dialogue.

And now we see that the screenplay provided all those things!

Omar Sy ability to speak english may be reason why they cut most of bishop's dialogue
assuming they were shot.

I mentioned his heavy accent earlier too, but they knew what he sounded like when they cast him. He could easily have worked on his diction and they could have done several takes until what he said was clear.

Maybe in the next film he can speak a bit more!

They could have cast him due to his looks and thought a dialogue coach would help but thought In end best to limit his dialogue.

It's very hard to know if new mutants In DOFP will be used again especilly with word some OT cast will be In Apocalypse. The characters seen in ending we know they will be keeping some COntunity as far as ages go but those like new mutants not seen In ending that's more questable.

I guess it's like Blink..though hearing her "Times up" in the movie makes me wonder why they dubbed it for the preview....

That is how I felt as well, right after the Paris Peace Accords incident, there was a long stretch of talking although the acting itself was good in those scenes, but I felt it needed some action somewhere in between. Cutting to the future to see Rogue being rescued could have been what it needed.

But she has to let go for the future to take hold, otherwise if it was constantly in flux, the bad future that was set in motion by the Sentinel project being fast-tracked would have wiped them out. Obviously in both cases she lets go as the Sentinels fire, but what if they'd never turned up? Wolverine would have had no way of getting home

Well wolverine had to focus to stay in the past right. remember when he almost slipped back when he saw striker? he could just....purposely f himself up to go back

The way I think of it is Kitty only projects Logan in the past and he can only ever return when his body wakes up. So Kitty has to keep him projected until Wolverine himself wakes up. When that happens the future is changed and Wolverine awakes in a new future.

Huge mistake for them to delete Rogue's scenes. It would have carried the film better. I found the second act to be very slow and boring this would have kept up the pacing. Most of the Past Scenes were not as exciting as the future.

I don't know if its lack of action or what. But my least favorite moments of the film started with the Paris Peace Accords. The film picked up again, well for me, once the younger Prof X talked to his future self.

While I do think there needed to be another future scene in the middle there to break it up, I don't think the movie became weak or lacked anything. The stuff that was shot was great. I loved the exchange between Mystique and Magneto. The Mystique hospital scene wasn't really necessary but we had to see where she was just like Magneto with the sentinel stuff. But there should have been another action piece I agree. The Rogue sequence would have been great. But in the end the plot didn't need her rescue or for her to take over for Kitty. While it would have been fantastic, I still loved Kitty holding on.

"The Arrival of Rogue"

Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Rogue arrive at the Temple looking exhausted and desperate.

CHARLES: Kitty, we brought someone who can help. You may let go now. You've done well.

Kitty looks up slowly, still struggling from her wounds. Kitty and Rogue see each other.

KITTY: Rogue...

ROGUE: Kitty, you're badly wou--

KITTY: Wh-- where's... Bobby?

A disturbing silence falls in the temple chamber. Xavier and Magneto catch a glance of each other momentarily, lost for words. Rogue does not lose sight of Kitty's eyes and fights back the tears.

ROGUE: I-I'm sorry. We couldn't --

KITTY: No, no--

MAGNETO: We don't have much time left!

CHARLES: He did everything he could.

Kitty bursts into tears while trying to hold on to Logan.

MAGNETO: Do it. Now.

Rogue approaches the stone slab and looks at Kitty.

ROGUE: This is our chance. Let me. For him. For all of us.

Rogue reaches out her right hand and touches a distraught and wounded Kitty in the forehead. Rogue reaches out her left hand to Logan's left temple. Kitty lightly gasps and still holds on to Logan.

CHARLES: You may let go now, my dear.

Kitty falls back and Magneto catches her from behind. Rogue positions herself in front of Logan. Zoom in to Rogue. Cuts back to the past.

HAHA OKAY I just made this scene in my head. I'm that desperate. :oldrazz:

Is it possible that the thing about storm was from the first script with Rachel grey? the fact storm adopted her or whatever it was.

I think I'm gonna want a directors cut..... Or extended version, there seems to be a lot of future stuff that ended in the cutting room floor

I don't think that is something about the character that we "need to know" as Halle put it. It would have been nice, but it wouldn't have been like Storms big secret as much as it was Scott and Jean's secret. ;)

I don't think so.

Halle already finished filming when she said that there was gonna be a big revelation about Storm's personality.

Some of this stuff - Bishop's generic macho lines, Magneto randomly being aggressive - I'm glad it didn't make the cut. I know the dialogue would've been tightened up, but it all feels out of place to me.
