Good for you.

I don't like:

1) Surfs Up Surfin Cowabunga Spidey (Cheese Galore and does not take the scene seriously in that moment)

2) Sandy "filler er up" Joe attack on the armored car. (Lame way of overpowering the gaurds and armored car considering Sandy's ability to change hands/arms into weapons. Means were either getting the kiddie's version of the scene as opposed to a kick ass one... or a sympathetic Sandy... just a guy robbin for his sick daughter... not really wanting to hurt anybody.)

3) The effects (yes part of them at least, maybe not all, but part) caused by *gasp* an out of control Armored Car. Now THAT"S What I pay my ticket price to see in a superpowered hero movie. :down NOT!!!

Just out of curiosty, is there anything that you do like?

In that scene, based on what we know now.... Not really. IF you're talking about the movie as a whole, or the past two movies... HELL YEAH. ;)

As for that [again, sorry to overuse the adjective] laughable crashed-truck video someone posted a link to.... the [expletive deleteds] who made that ought to be soundly [legally] smacked upside the head by Sony, just for the annoyance-factor of the film - not to mention how dull it made the setup look. A crashed truck, an idling dump-truck, garbage-truck, whatever... sound the Bronx cheer! Awesome. I honestly think if a chimpanzee had been holding the camera it would have been a better product - not to mention steadier. Idiots.

LMAO... *adjust his "gansta" Hat... and Totally agreed with your take on that... that... "video" *spit*. That was painful.

cant wait till I could be able to see the movie

lets cross our fingers it all turns out good

First let me get the obligatary "Loooong time lurker (back when it was just plain old Spider-Man Hype) first time poster glad to be here, blah blah blah out of the way."
Not sure if any of this applies any longer to this thread but a few scenes from Saturday's Cleveland shoot seem to have been overlooked by the few who stuck it out all day. After hitting the garbage truck head on at the corner of E. 9th & Euclid the cameras were rolling facing the corner behind it for the "drop-off" of the armored cars' occupants. The two drivers were filmed jumping off of a ladder on bungee cord attached to a cable running across to the roof of the Cleveland Trust as the extras looked on in amazement. Not sure if in the final film they are being lowered by webbing but it looked that way. This took a lot longer to set up than to film. The best part was watching the guards have sand tossed on them and the guy in the Sandman shirt rigging them. Next up two flat bed trucks rolled the wrecked armored car so it would slide in front of some (parked) oncoming traffic. This, like the garbage truck scene, was a 1 take deal and may have been more for placement than something they needed filmed. Altough they did have a camera on it. Inncidentally, according to the crew member I spoke with, 12 cameras were on the garbage truck hit. Next the armored car was dressed with sand and prepped for ol' Webhead to crawl out of. Not sure what happens inside but he seems kinda shaken (wouldn't you if you were inside the truck after it collides with a garbage truck), notices the traffic and pedestrians and runs towards an idling taxi (probably getting ready to swing away). While all this was going on they were filming more of the armored car in traffic up the street, this time with NYC busses and more crowd reactions down the street towards Public Square. Never did see a cop car although one was parked in the lot. After Spidey crawled and ran he was fitted with a harness and you all know what happened next. That's right...the electric company removed a power line. Strictly speculation on my part but I don't think Spidey fights the Sandman in this sequence. I'm thinking he just rescues the two guards and stops the runaway truck. He may just swing away thinking "What was up with all the sand".

God, you people make me sick sometimes. How about you all shut your faces and agree to disagree. Some of you think that sm3 will be a masterpiece *smirks*, yeah right...... and others think its looking bad. So what, you people want a medal if you sway your pov onto others and have them share it? The fact is, its obvious your all coming from different places with how you see this movie turning out and you all know it, yet you continue to indulge each other's pointless bickering thats taking you nowhere. Move on already, damn.

Thanks for that info!!! That helps out the script summary which says sandman gets away and leaves a defeated spidey that Brock gets a picture of, it also says to picture that fight like the fight in the mummy, like a big wall/wave of sand, i picture spidey, riding that wave with the armored car truck door, which i think is cool.

You people act like any difference of opinion is pounced upon. Hardly. Slag doesn't really mind the idea of Gopher as Venom. He's delighted to see Gwen Stacy about 10 years film-wise after her time. C'est la vie; that's his business. He is, however, not being an idiot about it. "Being an idiot" is the "ZOMG!!!! Topher Grace WAS BORN TO PLAY VENOM1111one!!!!!!" thing, which is a laughably stupid idea, as anyone with two consecutive firing neurons can see.
Oh, I think Topher as Venom is the worst thing to ever happen to the franchise! But I guess that since I'm a Raimi worshipper I should be happy...

And I don't mind Gwen Stacy. She could fit in Raimi's vision. But Dwarfnom never will.

Dude, it would make an awesome Happy Meal toy, though.

2) Sandy "filler er up" Joe attack on the armored car. (Lame way of overpowering the gaurds and armored car considering Sandy's ability to change hands/arms into weapons. Excellent point. And I'm not trying to refute it at all, but, I have a question. Can we realistically have characters with hardly any motives? "Yeah man, kill and stuff just because I can!". I don't think it works. There are people in our world like that, but they are few when you consider the conditioning of the American society. Even with powers, only a few people would go on a killing spree. That's why we have Carnage. He was in jail for murder anyway...

I admit that I may have misunderstood you about that. But you really, in how I read it, made it seem like the sick daughter angle was a bad idea. Or rather, that it was bad for him to have a motive like that. I always saw Raimi as making a comparison of spidey to the villain. They were both blessed with power. And with great power comes great responsibility, but the villains are weak. Because of their weaknesses their went into crime instead of helping people.

Doc Ock could have become an even better scientist, using his skills to help. Norman could have went to another company and sold his technology, admiting his new found powers and admiting the side effects. People could have helped him recover and also get him the money he wanted and grants for the research out of the tremendous gifts the gas gave him. It was pretty much the super formula captain A took. Just at an earlier stage.

But Sandman is different than them. He is actually using his powers for good. Not with a twisted logic, not with mind control or paranoid dellusions or anything. He's actually using his powers to save his daughter. A conscience effort. He has a reason to fight beyond being a thug. I think it is good and fits with the movies. But my opinion isn't important in this case, because I'm more interested in trying to understand yours. Please explain it again, cause I think I didn't get it. (I'm ******ed just go with it.)

In the comics, Sandman went good for a while anyway. And I think he had actually tried. So to have him have a small good side wouldn't be too bad. Right?

3) The effects (yes part of them at least, maybe not all, but part) caused by *gasp* an out of control Armored Car. Now THAT"S What I pay my ticket price to see in a superpowered hero movie. :down NOT!!!

In the comics, the powers were cool. But what good are powers if they don't react with the world around them. Spider-Man can stick to walls, what good is that if there are not many walls or buildings. Why isn't Peter in Smallville? The environment and props are just as good as the powers themselves. So when cars are flipping through the air and everything is crazy. It's cool because it's a realistic take on what would happen if these things occured.

So yeah I didn't really understand.

We've had a sympathetic Ock, we have a sympathetic Dr. Connors/Lizard to look forward to. Some could argue that Norman was sympathetic to a point (i.e. he really loved Harry just didn't know how to express it *yuck*). I'm sick of the sympathetic villains, I'm sick of Sam trying to make us feel for them. Sandman has never had any kind of story to really speak of. IF... Sam is going to make him sympathetic, we have NO CHANCE of having a really BAD TO THE BONE villain simply because he can (Power and all). It would NOT surpise me IF Sam plays the sympathy angle with Brock/Venom either... EVEN more so since he's the evil version of Spider-Man it appears in Sam's demented eyes/mind. :down

But, sympathetic or not. The scene sounds like the "kiddie's" version of the armor car robbery. SOOOO unlike the GREAT scene with Ock in the Emergency Room. WHY can't we get more like that. In other words... A SERIOUS FRICKIN Spidey movie.

As far as being in the "real world"... 1) You chose this cornball villain (Sandy... Living Sand *sigh)... SO... if you chose the mess... PLAY with the mess. DON'T GIVE me Mummy reruns... RAISE THE FRICKIN BAR.

umm, i dont know about you, but remember that spider-man is a hero, for ages 2-90+, the movie has to beable to relate, connect with all ages, and different genres. Thats why i think when sam, tosses the love aspect in, thats for teens and family/ dating, the horror/ thriller scene (hospital) for the adults and for people who like to be a lil scared, also the classic lines of humour for the kids. ect i dont wana go on, sure id love to see the darker side, but the first comics, were soo chesey it was rediculous, but every one loveeedddd spidey, umm just tossin a piece of me in there sorry, if i offend any 1.:spidey:

Yeah I'm not going to this movie either.

Man I really hope this scenes plays out well, I hope that spidey surfing the door not only looks cool but is there for a reason, because I don't want him door surfing just because it looks cool. I mean for all I know he could just jump into the roof of the car/truck and fight sandman right away unless. and I really want to see spidey this time doing some spectacular acrobatics and not just the same twirl and matrix (bullet time) spine bending dodge he always does.

No offence here. I sure don't agree with you, but no offence. I guess it's just a preference. I was, and still am even with this, looking forward to a darker, more serious Spider-Man. And as far as the early comics being cheesy... the very early ones yes, BUT with this being SM3, we're past the corny or cheesy... or SHOULD BE.

And I think you're selling the kids short. I think the kids, early teens, want a serious Spidey movie too.

Imagine what they'll do to VINO to make him more family-friendly. That'll be fun.

Between that idea, the "Raindrops" sequence last time out, and the recent Wolverine/Sentinel clip from X-3 [gah!], I think it's safe to say maybe we could use a little LESS humor in these films. Humor is hard to pull off with this subject-matter.

Unless you're intentionally going for cheese/laughs. I can't think of a concept that goes better with VINO and Harry's desire for revenge, how 'bout you?

Exactly. God how I hate that X-3 clip. Something as great as a real drama of a scene with the Sentinel... and we get the cheese. *sheesh*

 OMG. Are...we...about...to....agree?!

That clip with Storm and Wolvy blew so many chunks it's unreal. Now I remember why I was nervous about X3: more Halle as Storm. Her character is not vital to this X-trilogy, so why give her more? Oh, cause she's Halle flippin' Berry? Bulls***. So they give her more lines, and now she won't shut the f*** up. I mean, if this clip is any indication of the film, I think we might actually be in trouble, despite a bada$$ trailer.

I bet you Sandman Gets killed by Venom... BET YOU GUYS!!!!!!!

And I have reasons to believe this too..

Sandman was drunk thats why he crashed it! Figures... Look at his suit, you know he drinks! that's his only weakness,, Liquid.

^I was hoping Halle wouldn't be in X-3 and that Wolverine would get less screen time giving other characters the spot light, but nope. These three movies should just be renamed the Wolverine trilogy, because that's what they are basically.

I like how this goes from the Sandman car chase to what people think of X3. The Spidey forum is top notch these days. :o
