So I don't know anything about the world of Pokemon, but are they supposed to be out in the public and known to the world like this? I thought the whole idea was to catch them, meaning they are rarely seen in the public?

No they're pretty much the animals of their world, except most of them are much more intelligent than animals. It honestly doesn't make any sense when you think about it.

Pretty decent trailer. Still can't get over Ryan Reynolds voice as Pikachu.
I don't think it fits well and that voice is so well known as Deadpool that it kinda fells weird to me.

Cool seeing all the different pokémons. Love Charizard he was always my favorite.
Some of the CGI felt a bit iffy at times, like when the kid was talking to Pikachu... He wasn't even looking at the right place and Pikachu was standing out a bit too much from the background.

The music was fun, "holding out for a hero"... Someone took inspiration from that pitch perfect Ragnarok edit.

I am personally amazed at the world they are building. So much is going on in the background. This is the world of Pokemon. And some of the pokemon choices are great. Still gen 1 heavy, but plenty outside gen 1.

I love that it's Gen 1 heavy. Gen 1 is really the only one that I'm familiar with. Makes sense since this is the first movie.

I stopped watching Pokemon after Gen 3 because the anime was getting ridicilous with its fillers and logic. For me Gen 1 and Gen 3 will always be the best. Watch a few episodes of Gen 5 and they seem pretty good.

Talking about the Pokemon theme. Maybe I'm the only one here who dislike the legendary English theme theme I always thought that the Japanese's themes are better, such as these 2:

As someone who didn’t grow up with Pokemon nor knows much about it, I agree the first trailer was better in that it was more accessible to someone like me. This one felt like it wasn’t selling it to the general public, but more fans who already know the property.
