Detective Pikachu

Sceptile is the most underrated Ash’s Pokemon, really.

Pikachu, Charizar and Greninja all got to appeared on the trailer. Even Bulbasaur. But Sceptile, one of Ash’s most elite and popular, badass Pokemon couldn’t even get a second. I also notice that he never got the same public appeal as Charizard and Greninja, despite being just as strong as them.

Where's Growlithe?

Blastoise and Meowth are a must for me. Would be cool if Team Rocket cameos at the end.

If they plan on making a Franchise out of this maybe they ccan have Team Rocket attack something like a Pokemon center in the end credit scene or something like that.

That would be cool but they might want to save them for the red/blue movie.

Hey you know how whenever they do a shared universe they try to have at least one woman led movie? Makes sense of course, to keep the demographics as broad as possible and inspire young women but my point is, which woman could lead a Pokémon movie?

Misty definitely.

I would LOVE a misty film. How she became a gym leader, her relationship with her sisters, how she caught her staryu etc

I heard somewhere that Pikachu has no memory in this movie. What if at the end he gets his memory back and goes off on his own to find Ash, Misty & Brock? (Spinoff with Misty, followed by direct sequel)

Regarding the next film; I doubt it'll involve Ash at all. They're probably keep him for manga purposes. It's quite likely that the Red/Blue film will simply follow a character in the Kanto region doing the rounds, so it's possible we'll see Brock and Misty in their gyms, and battle them? Maybe it would serve as a prequel to the animated cartoon, before Ash's adventure?

I do wonder though how they're going to get through eight gyms, and the league all in one film? Unless they're going with 9 films (one gym and a side quest per film, then wrap it up with the league and legendary stuff at the end, in the 9th film?)

That Growlithe looks like it's up to no good...

I think the next film will definitely star Ash and the gang, sorta like they're testing the waters with this movie before they give us the main course. We'll see how this one ends, though.

Actually from what i heard:

Supposedly, if what I've read is true, DP IS Tim's dad! Sort of. Apparently, his dad was left for dead, and Mewtwo transferred his mind into his Pikachu, hence why he has no memory at first. We'll find this out at the end.

That sounds awful. I hope this isn't true.

As @-VisionsVision- has rightly said, this sounds awful, however it also seem like it would make sense. Tim is the only person who can hear the Pikachu; and the Pikachu speaks as an adult.

If that's the case,
wouldn't Tim recognize the voice? Or does Tim's dad just end up sounding like some random adult when he ends up as DP?

Regarding that spoiler:
If it follows the game, DP is a regular Pikachu that helped Tim’s Dad and Mewtwo’s plot in the story is they were trying to stop a virus that causes rampaging Pokemon made from Mewtwo’s DNA. By the end Tim’s Dad is still missing.
. They may have changed things though.

God pikachu really is going to conquer live action.

I wonder what’s next? Musicals?
