Why the hell does Psyduck sound so cutesy? That might be the first thing I've seen from this movie that I'm not digging at all.

I'm a little surprised this is going to be PG and not PG-13.

Trying to make it sound more like a real duck. Which is a mistake.
I don't understand that, though. He sounds more like an infant to me. The old Psyduck sounded much more like a duck with his nasally voice. But hey, it's a small complaint...just seems pretty important when a Pokemon's voice is a big part of the character. Hopefully, the other Pokemon sound closer to their animated counterparts; kind of worried about Mewtwo now.

yay Treecko is there. Hope we can see a cool, calm Grovyle or Sceptile, like Ash's one

I'm a little surprised this is going to be PG and not PG-13.

I have read several reports saying that the trailers for this elicits the best and the most animated reactions from little kids during the previews before a movie. So a PG rating makes sense if WB doesn't want any restrictions imposed upon that particular demographic.

I understand. I am pleased, as Pokemon is inherently a kids property. But then, one my favorite films of the last year was a PG film.
The subject matter of Pokemon itself is pretty ****ing dark, itsi just hidden under a bunch of cute animals.

Yeah I mean, like every fairy tale is downright psychotic when you read the actual source material

The 12 movies you must absolutely, positively see this summer (yes, including 'Avengers')

The skinny: In a world where Pokemon creatures and humans coexist, a former Pokemon trainer (Smith) wants to find his missing dad and partners with ace detective Pikachu (voiced and played via facial motion capture by Reynolds). And Pikachu’s a supersleuth, as “if Sherlock had a baby with ("Murder, She Wrote" detective) Jessica Fletcher and their child gave birth to Columbo,” Reynolds says. He also gives life to Pikachu’s high-pitched “pika pika” lines. “My voice is naturally situated at a glass-shattering pitch,” Reynolds quips. “I’ve actually worked hard to lower it every moment of my life to remain attractive to my wife.”

:funny:
