Heh, sorry for the misleading title, but there isn't much news to report on it. Other than the fact that it will (sooner or later) be announced some day. I'm making this thread for future discussion/rumors/news. So with that, talk about your wants for the next DMC game.

Me, I'd like to see more Dante, and little to none of Nero. That's the thing that really upset me about DMC4, it put too much focus on Nero, and when Dante came around, we got nothing special. I'd also like to see Vergil return with a vengeance, since technically in the order of the games stories, he hasn't been seen since DMC1.

I didn't have a problem with Nero per say, but he was basically just a young Dante in looks and somewhat in personality (though he struck me more as Virgil in that aspect). If they had planned to introduce a new protagonist, they should have made him/her more differing. That, and I didn't like the way they broke it halfway through and had Dante basically do the exact same path in reverse. DMC does repeat bosses more than I care for, but that was really taking it to the extreme

If Bayonetta is as good as the reviews say (and as much as I hope it is) then Capcom probably needs to take some notes from it for DMC5.

Oh yeah, that's for sure, especially in the replay value and unlockables department. Because God knows that DMC4 pretty much had no replay value what so ever.

So either Capcom needs to start adding new ideas to the series, or get Hideki Kamiya to work for them again.

I've always wanted to see a open world DMC game, taking place all over the fictional cities they go to. I think such an idea could work out pretty well. I mean, going from place to place wouldn't be a big deal, in DT Dante can fly. What do you think?

Do you mean like GTA style open world and doing missions in each of the cities?

Yeah, pretty much. I mean...that is what Dante's shop is for. But taking on small time gigs could be like side stuff.

As long as the world wasn't too big or anything. Something like the size of Brutal Legend with that idea could potentially work.

They could go the route of Destroy All Humans, with serveral smaller open world locations.

I liked Nero in DMC4. Wouldn't mind him coming back.
About Vergil's return...isn't Nero his incarnation?

And I agree with the boss battles point. They exagerated in the last one.

Oh, definitely. Compared to Bayonetta, DMC plays at a snail's pace. Bayonetta totally upped the high speed action with fighting mutiple foes. And the combos, oh lord the combos, there are so many of them. They definitely need to get the guy back to work on another DMC. I think otherwise it will get totally overshadowed by Bayonetta.

I love the DMC games, but Bayonetta just straight up owns all of them.

I agree, when comparing DMC4 to Bayonetta, the latter is just so much better, not to mention a healthy amount of replay value.

DMC's gameplay needs a total overhaul. Maybe they need to in incorporate his Devil form more into the move set. The gameplay just needs to be totally worked on if they hope to ever be able to compete with Bayonetta. I also like how they put in other little gameplay segments. Like the arcade shooter and motorcycle rides.

You know what would be totally awesome though? Some time, in the future, a DMC and Bayonetta cross-over game.

Heh, yeah right...maybe when Capcom becomes less dooshie.

That would be interesting. Having Virgil come back settle things with Dante, and start working with him for a change. he'll be the more serious of the two twin bros Dante will the laid back one but still gets the job done , it'll kinda like out law star(if you ever saw that show) to a small degree , only in games format

plus we'll have six characters to play with co-op wise. hmmmm seeing the graphics game play in Bayonetta it might be too much to have 4 players. unless every one playing only separately at their homes.

So I guess two is enough. But you'll have six characters to use from. That would be sweet. lol I think Bayonetta will be the only chick Dante will hook up with too or be mostlikly to.

Lady seems to be all the to her self type. or she'd most likely hook up with Nero(who's more serious) if he wasn't taken ( the girl he has thing for in the last game DMC 4). Meh she's mostly business, so what ever on that. Trish to seems more likely to hook up with Virgil if he ever went good, but still with a dark side streak in him.

And the best part is if Dante gets those other two women out of his hair he won't end up so poor so often. The guy has enough trouble as it is paying for destroyed public property as it is.

The way they make him pay for their shopping. Any ways I can see Bayonetta flirting with Dante in a fun way but she does that with everything as it is. I'm guessing.

That would make for some great series of games. They do have re-work a lot of the game play mechanics as was said up top though. but i can see this working. as to open world game play wise as nathan said, hmmm I'm thinking infamous but each case is set in a differnt town. yeah that keep things fresh .
