All issues aside, I'm really happy about how they appear to be approaching Galactus for this film. I still have PTSD from Rise of the Silver Surfer.

The design seems like it was directly lifted from the comics - which would seem the obvious way to go, but we’ve seem how often Marvel and other studios have been afraid to make characters look like their comic counterparts.

This is a bit similar to how they designed the Celestials which are even bigger than Galactus, so I'm not surprised.

Also after Rise of the Silver Surfer, there's really no other option but just be faithful to the comic book look.

Except for the somewhat derpy face (I know the guy has a great voice and presence which is what matters), that's actually a beautiful nod to Kirby's bombastic engineering and design, that's not always easy to pull off in live action.
I'm glad they didn't feel the need to reinvent=ruin, or "tone it down", and went all in staying true to the source material. Looks great!

Now If only we had Norrin Radd Surfer, to herald his arrival.

I think they just didn't bother to do Norrin, as a way to differentiate from the Fox Silver Surfer. We can't have it all, sadly.

Yep, and I know a follow up question I will get is why they didn't just use Nova then, and I think it's 2 reasons:

1 - Visual diversity - 2 flying flame people

2 - They still have future plans to use the Nova branding for Richard Ryder or one of the other Novas.

I had to settle myself in the run up to his introduction as I can be quite the scaredy cat.

I was quite impressed with the general way they treated Galactus. Not too much screen time, more just the characters discussing the idea of him really sold the weight of the world he brings.

Only minor complaint is that they didn't do any kind of shot of him leaving the ship and entering earth, but I understand that is a difficult thing to sell in live action.

There's a lot of mystery to Galactus' existence, and I would be interested in an origin story, but I don't think that's going to happen in the MCU. Its kinda similar to Dormammu.

Galactus looked and sounded like a tremendous threat. Bravo to the visual team behind this piece, they took great care and kept the appearance in line with the comics.

I was rooting for Bardem too but Ineson has won me over due to just his voice alone. Hopefully Bardem will pop up in another role down the line.

I always wanted Bardem for, Doom.
Marvel had other plans.

We live in a time when "Butchered Deadpool" and "Cloud Galactus" have now both been put to rest. I wish I could travel back in time and tell 10 year old me its going to be ok during those dark times.

I only wish we would have gotten one more scene with Galactus I would have loved like a montage of him destroying worlds while SS monologued to showcase how much of a threat he is. But he was great in what little scenes he was in.
