It's illegally gotten evidence that would be thrown out of court, and never allowed to be said again. There is NO WAY that Doakes is stupid enough to go "LULZ I FOUND THIS IN DEXTERS APARTMENT". He's just going to say he found it under a bridge or something out in the open and wanted it checked out.

But if Doakes lies in a way that disconnects the box from Dexter, it would be pointless. All it is without the connection to Dexter is blood samples from the Bay Harbor Butcher's victims, which is nice to have but doesn't really lead the cops anywhere they weren't already looking into.

I think the big twist is Doakes asks for the blood work to be done and something happens at that point..... Dexter ends up doing it, but is not linked at that point to the box. We will see.

woah , the whole doakes / dexter confrontation at the end was INTENSE !!!! i totally didn't expect doakes to come out of nowhere like that . i was surprised when they showed him in the cage and everything . looks like dex has no other choice but to kill him .
