Lila's definitely gonna play a pivotal role in this somehow, the last episode of the season is called "The British Invasion" and I doubt that's a coincidence.

i doubt doakes and dexter will 'reach some kind of agreement'. it's totally out of both their characterisations

It's pretty far out of Dexter's characterization to kill an innocent man, too. So I really have no idea what'll happen.

The most important rule: Don't get caught. I think you can throw out the killing an innocent person thing. In the flashback remember when Harry was asking Dexter about what the number rule is and he said "Make sure they deserve it" and Harry dismissed it and asked for what the real number one rule was.

Yes, but the Code of Harry is still everything Harry told Dexter, filtered through Dex's interpretation. The only thing that separated him from his brother last season was that he didn't kill people who didn't deserve it. That had to strengthen his commitment to that rule.

But the monster in Dexter would also consume him if he violates the Code. I'd frankly be disappointed in both Dexter and the show's writers if he didn't at least try long and hard to come up with another option besides killing an innocent man and getting a death sentence himself.

I don't know. I certainly didn't say that. I said Dexter should be smart enough to find another option besides 1) letting himself get caught or 2) killing Doakes, which seem to be the only two options the show itself has suggested to us at this point.

yep, british invasion....invasion could signify more than one...meaning someone else is connected to lila....thats what i think, i think someone else along with lila have been planning everything....i still think Lundy isnt who we think he is...

he's seen through everything else so far. if doakes all of sudden turns up murdered, that will be suspicious as s***.

and lundy not being who we think he is an my opinion, and has nothing to do with him being suspicious of doakes being killed.

just thought of something, maybe dex can kill doakes and get away with it...if doakes comes after him, self defense... that would be interesting.

How hard would it be for Dexter to make it seem like Doakes kidnapped him from his apartment, through his bathroom window, took him to his boat and then out to the cabin where Dexter managed to defend himself and get away, killing Doakes in the process? Not very...

um thats not how it would have to happen...dex could just have to get doakes into his apartment. which if he can sneak out of, he can sneak into.

theres many ways something like that could go down. alot happens in 3 episodes.

Wow, last night's episode was ridiculous!!! Best of the season by far. I can't wait to see what happens between Dex and Doakes.

Also, I think it's obvious Lila will play a big part in the finale. Look for the kids and some fire to get involved, too. Mark my words.

It would seem as though he's gone completely off the grid, as if he was on the run, which he is. As long as no one knows he's dead, he'll still be the number one suspect.

Yeah thats exactly what I mean, as far as Lundy and the FBI knows, he is on the run in Haiti or some ****. No one but Dexter knows he is back.
