Season 1 of Rome was very good, but season 2 fell very short then they ended it with killing of one of the two main characters of the show, so for season 3 if im around i might watch it but I probably wont go out of my way to watch it.

Uh, didn't Rome get cancelled?

I really dont know, I was so dissapointed with season 2 I really didnt pay attention to anything else about it. I know one of the main characters has a "quantum leap" like show on NBC and thats running the line of being canceled.

Yes, it did. I was pretty upset about that. I thought it would cover the period from Julius Caesar's rise to power to Augustus' coronation as the first Emperor of Rome, but instead we only got about halfway there. I don't think Octavian ever even took the name Augustus. :(

My memmory is fuzzy since its been a few month, I think after Marc anthony killed himself Octavian took the name Augustus, but like I said im not positive.

Oh and btw Corp I love your avatar, I rewatched that scene 3x laughing when dexter said "I own you"

Yeah, I haven't watched it since it aired for the first time either. Maybe I'm forgetting something. Still, I think they could've gotten another season out of it. That was a phenomenal cast.

The second season lacked some of the action and brutality from the first season, like the gladiator fight, or the decapitation. I dont know if they always intended to kill of lucious, but I couldnt see a third season without him. Aside from that another season was viable guess the rating just werent there.

Well, yeah, a third season without Lucius would've sucked. Pullo had gotten too boring on his own by then anyway. He'd never be the guy who smashed a dude's face against a post because he wanted his woman again. :(

Yea I forgot about Pullo, did his wife die or just loose the baby I cant remember my brain hasnt woken up this morning. Oh well...:csad:

Oh my God, no one's discussing Dexter and only Dexter. This thread USED TO BE GOOD!

I know. I was making a sarcastic joke. ;)
Whew ^^ hehe

But anyways about Dexter, im really interested to see how things pan out, I really like doakes as a character, it seems like they could still develop his character a lot more, I hope to see him again in season 3

I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I was very pleseantly surprised to learn at the end of last week's episode that it was not the season finale. The fact that the show is this engrossing with 3 episodes left is a true testament to the great writers the show has.

After watching that ep i figured there was only one more to go, its cool that we have 3 more eps to resolve how he is going to out of this mess. The only complaint I had about season 1 was that climax and resolution seemed to go by so quickly.

That's true. Sometimes the reason behind that is the new writers that come aboard at the start of a new season care more about injecting their new ideas and directions into a series more then carrying on what came before them.

is season 2 of dexter still going on? I haven't see the show since I don't have Showtime, but since the strike is going on and most of the shows I watch are on hiatus, I was thinking about getting season 1 of Dexter on DVD. Is the show good? I read the plot and it sounds interesting. The show is set in Miami, right? I watch Nip/Tuck but the show left Miami for Los Angeles, so I would love to see Miami as a backdrop again.

IMO season 1 was great but season 2 is 10x's better, and yes it's still in Miami and theres about 3 more episodes left till this season ends.

thanks. I'll try to look for some sale on the dvd box set. There might be one with the holidays coming up.
