I hope for once there isn't more to a death. I hope they just leave Harry's death as is, he killed himself because he realized what he had done. It has so much more of an impact that way. The whole Matthews being behind it idea is so predictable.

So, its settled, me and hobgob are going to write season 3. Crazy, scary killer, Matthews responsible for Harry's death, crazy ex-cop LaGuerta dies at end. No death of Rita. Alrighty! Its on.

i want the fact that he killed himself to be the same...but i want something about it to make matthews guilty enough for dexters cutting courtroom... assisted suicide, something...

i just think it would be a great episode to have matthews lying on the sacrificial table and seeing someone he saw grow up about to cut him up.

That would pwn. Matthews does seem to be connected to Dexter's part in a bigger way than has been revealed.

He seems like the kind of guy who would have driven Harry to his end, or something.

i just hope they dont go the route where matthews has known all along, harry confided in him and matthews kinda hinted that suicide is an answer...

Though that would be amazing if LaGuerta figures it all out and all that, and that is why she is fired by Matthews, why Dex does not go down, and that is the twist at the end.

Especially since we have been so conditioned to hate Matthews so long that it would be an amazing twist if he were the most valuable character in the show (someone not evil who knows Dex's secret). But it all has to end somehow and therefore not only do we have a great angle for the end of season 3 but also something insane Dexter can lose at any point to the wrong person.

But again, do we really need that? As that subplot was happening I was praying that there wasn't anything shady to do with Matthews because that is what it looked like would happen. It's just been done before in so many ways. Why does there always have to be more to a story? The way it ended was perfect, no need to try and tack on some revenge story now.

Because I agree with porchmonkey, Matthews does seem to be a somewhat shady character and has his hands in some dirty business. But why can't it ever be the opposite of what it seems to be in those situations?

i hope they do the same thing with season 3 as they did with 2, setting it about a month after the events of the BHB.

the first season is awesome...the 2nd season is better, but its in a different format.... the first season is focused on dexter playing games with a serial killer they are chasing, where in the second season dexter is the serial killer being chased.
