Diablo 3 enables cross-platform saves as Ultimate Evil looms

Blizzard has implemented cloud saving in its latest update for the console versions of Diablo 3, allowing players to transfer their character data across platform generations for the upcoming Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition.

Diablo 3's cross-manufacturer cloud saving feature allows players to transfer their data from a PlayStation 3 to an Xbox One, or from an Xbox 360 to a PlayStation 4. The process, outlined at Blizzard's blog, involves installing the latest Diablo 3 console patch, exporting save data to Blizzard's cloud service, and linking a user's Sony Entertainment Network and Xbox Live accounts via Battle.net.

Diablo 3 does not currently support save transfers between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, or between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. PC saves are also incompatible with the console versions of Diablo 3, and Sony-exclusive Diablo 3 content (including Drake's Amulet and other items) will not transfer to Xbox platforms.

Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition launches for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PS4 on August 19.

Game isn't getting a below a 9. Reading that is is by far the definitive version and even if you've played it a million times over that you should do so again on the PS4 and XB1.

Diablo III previews the Vault

There's nothing worse in Diablo III than seeing a treasure goblin waltz up and snatch a valuable item away from you whilst you're dealing with a pack of monsters. It's endlessly satisfying to catch the little monster and take it down. But what if you could head back to the goblins' base and start taking stuff from them for a change? That's the idea behind the Vault, a new area being added to Diablo III with patch 2.1.

Whenever you take down a treasure goblin in 2.1, there's a chance that a portal to the Vault will spawn. Inside the Vault there's a ton of items pilfered by the treasure goblins, as you'd expect. There's also the Baroness Greed, who doesn't take kindly to having her space invaded and her pilfered goods re-pilfered by someone else. Still, it turns the game on its head; instead of being annoyed when a treasure goblin pinches your loot, now you'll have a chance to get something even better.

Diablo 3 : The Ultimate Evil Edition Is the Ultimate Edition

Posted Aug 20, 2014

It feels weird to say it, but I think the most recent release of Diablo 3, The Ultimate Evil Edition, to PS4 and Xbox One just might be the best version of the game out there. Not only does it come with all of the content and improvements the PC version has already seen, but there are a load of cool console-only features to boot. Oh, and what’s best? You don’t have to experience any of it online. You can play the whole thing disconnected from Battle.Net, the Internet, and still play alongside three of your friends from your couch. That alone makes this the defacto edition of Diablo 3.

PSN Store Update: El Diablo

0

Video games! They've been hibernating through the summer, but this week's PlayStation Store update brings plenty of the blighters onto PS4, PS3 and Vita. Let's start with the biggie, Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition, which brings Reaper of Souls to the action-RPG on PS3 ($40) and debuts the game itself on PS4 ($60). It's also out on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The two other cross-platform releases are Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, which'll eat up 40 of your greenbacks on PS4 and 30 on PS3, and the stealthy CounterSpy, a $15 cross-buy purchase that unlocks the game ons PS4, PS3 and Vita. PS4 players also have a choice between the hyperviolent $10 Hotline Miami - also cross-buy - the somewhat less violent The Last Tinker: City of Colors ($20) and the retro Arcade Archives Rygar ($8).

I like playing this game on PS4 more than PC. I enjoy playing games like this with a controller.

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls patch 2.1 out now, new video rounds up its features

Diablo III's first major post-2.0 patch releases today. As with other patches, 2.1.0 adds new things. But which new things? It's a question we've already answered, but should reading words be a torment on your very being—to the point where this sentence, in all its selfish continuing, causes tears to run unbidden into your screaming cheeks—then Blizzard have made a video. Watch that instead.

Diablo III patch improves pets, Greater Rifts, and Witch Doctors

The latest patch for Diablo III is out now for players in North America, and it's a big one for pets. Area damage now hits pets for less damage than before, some pets have had their health increased, and in general there's a play philosophy focus that pets should be roughly as durable as the class that summoned them in the first place. It's good news if you tend to take part in the game with a companion creature or two.

The update also makes a variety of adjustments to Greater Rifts, altering the behavior of enemies found within the rifts and removing certain maps form the rotation. Witch Doctors have also received a variety of buffs, with several fetishes getting substantially more life and improved functionality. Take a gander at the full patch notes to see how much has changed.

the first major content update for diablo iii: Reaper of souls – ultimate evil edition is coming today! We’re so excited to deliver patch 2.1.0 to ps4 and can’t wait for you to venture into the vault, explore the murky corners of the cesspools, level up your legendary gems, and find out just how far you can push your hero in greater rifts.

So, what’s new and improved in patch 2.1.0? Let’s take a look!

The “what’s new” screen
a “what’s new” screen will now appear whenever a player logs into the game (and presses “start” at the main menu) after a new patch has been installed. As the name suggests, this screen will provide a quick overview of new features included in the patch.

The vault
whenever treasure goblins are defeated, there’s now a chance they will spawn a new type of portal through which players can enter. Inside this mysterious new realm known as “the vault,” mighty treasures await… along with sanctuary’s newest boss: The baroness greed.
For more information about the vault, click here.
Please note that portals to the vault can only be accessed in adventure mode, and that they will not appear inside nephalem rifts or greater rifts.

The cesspools
when adventuring in nephalem rifts and greater rifts, players will have a chance to encounter a new randomized environment: The cesspools. Originally designed as the sewers of westmarch, this festering, dank underworld is ready to explore and plunder!

Greater rifts
greater rifts are a special type of timed nephalem rift. There are an infinite number of greater rift levels, and each level will be progressively more difficult than the last. Upon completing a greater rift, players will be able to choose between one of two rewards: A chance to upgrade their legendary gems or (if they complete the greater rift level within its allotted time) the opportunity to move on to the next greater rift level. Players can continue progressing through greater rift levels so long as they complete the current rift level before its timer expires.

For more information about greater rifts, click here.
Please note that greater rifts can only be accessed in adventure mode.
Ramaladni’s gift

ramalandni’s gift is a new legendary item that will allow players to add a socket to any weapon that does not already have one. This item can drop randomly in the game world and will be consumed on use.
For more information on ramaladni’s gift, click here.

Legendary gems
legendary gems are a new type of gem that can drop in greater rifts and the vault and will offer powerful abilities when socketed into rings and amulets. Players will have the opportunity to upgrade their legendary gems over time by completing greater rifts.

For more information about legendary gems, click here.
Good luck, nephalem. We wish you fortune and glory in your continued adventures across sanctuary!

Diablo 3 : Season 2 and Next Patch Details Revealed at Blizzcon

Posted Nov 07, 2014

The Blizzard Diablo III team took to the stage to discuss the upcoming Season 2 and changes that players will notice immediately. There will be new legendaries to collect, new pieces of the seasonal armor, new transmog items, new banners and much more.
In addition, each of the Conquests has been examined for the 'fun factor'. Those not measuring up will not be making a return and new ones will be added.
Lastly, seasonal achievements have been given an overhaul and tailored to give players long term goals over short term "sprint type" goals.
You'll see the return of Conquests that encourage long-term goals, such as It’s a Marathon and Sprinter. Reaching a specific Greater Rift level or rushing through Campaign mode from Act I to Act V are activities that encourage a variety of gameplay, some of which is outside the norm. In addition, while they offer a clear goal, they also encourage you to push harder for better results.

So I picked this up for BF as my sole game purchase. Ive never played the Diablo games and not many dungeon crawlers really. My main experience with the genre is the XML/MuA games which I always read as compared to and draw inspiration from Diablo 2. Is Diablo 3, something people think I may enjoy. How accessible is it to a newcomer of the series?

The story isn't that important.
You can jump right in and enjoy yourself.
The voice acting is good and the action is fantastic.
I just recently got the Ultimate Evil Edition for PS3 and haven't been able to get enough of it.
Sort of sad there is no discussion for it.

the fascinating thing about Diablo 3 is how Blizzard was able to turn the 'bad buzz' when it first came out into something really positive with the improvements and add ons.

To your point: I played this game with my GF at launch and when we finished it, I was completely and utterly disappointed.

About a month ago I picked the PS4 version up at my brother's insistence (he had to sell me on it) and had a real blast with it. Just got around to finishing the Reaper of Souls campaign and now Adventure Mode's opened up.

Getting near the end of Reaper, my Barb is at 65 and the going is good. The addition of that witch is great with the ability to change a stat on equipment or to simply change the look of your gear. I don't know what it is called but where do I find the potion to level up the gem guy and artisan?
