Sequels Legendary Pictures & Thomas Tull Think Superman Sequel

hey everyone......I've been posting here on the Superman boards for the past few years as Super-Bats.....

Today....I have officially changed my user name to......Iron Avenger.

so....it's still me, super-bats........but with a different name......lol.

a bit off topic, I know.....but most of the posters I interact with are here on the Supes boards.......

Pshhh, such a bandwagon fan. :oldrazz:

lol.

actually, I've been entertaining the idea for the last few months. Seeing Iron Man yesterday ( and absolutely LOVING it ) just sealed the deal......:oldrazz:

but it's still the same ol me......lol

glad to see Ironman doing superb. i would like to see what is the reaction of WB.

At WB they aren't too smart, so I bet that their first reaction is to look for some DC comics franchise similar to Ironman. I can even imagine that someone will say "And if we put a metal armor to Batman?" lol.

Then I'm sure that there'll be the classic debate about the future of their sh franchises, and after the SpeedRacer flop, I can see a period of pure panic. Everyone at WB will see in TDK the savior of the WB's summer with $270-300m at the box office, and if, I repeat if, it will happen that TDK is not able to meet their expectations (with maybe "only" $205-210m in the US)...

:D

first TF and now iron man. i think the formula is there to make milions. and of course a realese date without POTC.

they cna have a good realese date and have action like TF and iron man, humor like iron man. then try to make a story that is a little more character driven. and a budget 150 milions.
i bet it would make a profit.

I'm very wary about people equating Transformers with Iron Man. Though I enjoyed the hell out of Transformers, I think Iron Man is a superior film in every way.

well, I liked both TF and IM. But I liked IM better.....it was a much more "mature" film...

big budget action movie with a lot of action and a lot of humor. thats why i compare it.

The only reason I mention it is because, inevitably, someone is going to say that we want a Superman film like Transformers. I do not want a Superman film that is similar to Transformers, but a Superman film similar to Iron Man in terms of approach, that I could get behind.

aha ok. i still need to see the movie. but from the trailers i would also like to see a superman movie like iron man.

please no IM spoilers

I agree. IM is a better film than TF all the way. TF just flat out suck & I'm a huge TF's fan during the good o' days in the 80s with the toys & cartoon.

^I REALLY enjoyed IM, but find TF the better movie personally, i found the ending of IM extremely dissapointing. TF only had minor dissapointments for me.

REALLY? disappointing in what sense? action-wise?

For the record I find IM to be much better than TF, but TF is propably the most "entertaining" one of the two.

Somebody actually found that dumb as hell Transformers to be a better movie?

Okay, everyone is intitled to their opinion.

I think Iron Man is the better movie, I mean, just for the acting and story. but yeah, the final battle was very disappointing and the dialogue very cheesy, LOL.
Also, you know I hate TF.:word:

If TF is better than Iron Man, I don't even want to see Iron Man.

lol, no... I liked both TF and Iron Man, but IMO, Iron Man is much better and has a more developed storyline

I am waiting to see Iron Man until my girlfriend can go, but I don't want to see anything near Transformers.

other than having them look like robots, there really isn't much similarities in the movies

I'd liken it more to the first two Spider-Man movies than Transformers. I think that you and your gal will like it. I'm not gauranteeing that or anything but I think that ya'll will.

IRON MAN is very entertaining. It's about what you'd expect from an Iron Man origin story. It's not really all that much "deeper" than TRANSFORMERS, though the concepts may be more interesting in terms of their social relevance. The performances are on the same level. I'd call what Shia did with his material similar to what Tony Stark did with his. Both actors elevated their roles and a fairly average script.

I liked both TF and Iron Man....but I would have to say that I liked IM better!

oh, showtime, you and your girlfriend will probably enjoy IM.....just remember to stay after the credits..........:cwink:

P.S. It's me super-bats. Hunter Rider gave me a new name!! Thanks, Showtime for your help on that.
