I have crazy dreams almost every night. Some of them lucid where I can control the dream. I also get sleep paralysis a bit (though nowhere near as much as I used to). Even if the dream dictionary is not 100% accurate, sometimes it has good insight because while our individual problems may be unique, the emotions they cause are not.

The problems situation of the individual has a great amount of bearing on what the dream means. Not everyone has the same emotions caused by the same stimuli.

Take your snakes theme for example. If someone is terrified of snakes, a snake dream is a horrifying nightmare, regardless of the context.

For me, a snake dream is a neutral thing, and dependent on the context. I love snakes, but I am aware of the danger certain species hold. Venom in particular is something I hold as having a sort of terrible beauty to it. If there's a snake in my dream for no reason, it's meaningless. If I dream of handling snakes safely, it's a more hopeful dream for me. If I'm bitten by a venomous snake, it's a cautionary dream. Chased by a giant snake, a nightmare (but that's more from not wanting to be prey than anything snake-related).

Ghostvirus : I believe that many of our dreams are linked to issues alive in our heads RIGHT NOW. In particular I like to concentrate on a certain type of dream ie if only one thing was on your mind the day before then surely any deam will be about that issue. Its just a matter of working out the symbolism.

So if you have a dream about something on your mind right now then the symbolism is not vague... it's in fact quite specific. So if you had a argument the night before then the snake is in some ways a symbol or that. If a woman was worried about her boyfriend cheating on her then the dream would relate to that.

I would largely agree with that. But this dream dictionary is intended to help people help themselves... it does not just give one meaning to each symbol. In fact it explores all the different meanings.

I have tried to make a dream dictionary which is more like an ordinary dictionary. It explores the rich and varied use of symbols. Think of the many ways in which we use normal language.. the dream mind is even more sophisticated in using its language. This dream dictionary is intended to generate ideas and get the mind thinking. Its not meant to provide "The answer"
