A lot of issues are addressed (in their usual vague ways)

The how old is peter? thing and questions about the fallout from House of M were asked.

Also Peter is going to still be unmasked by 2007, at least, so Kevin Smith's radio interview was dismissed a bit. Plus there's reference to boards such as this one :) (Hopefully they don't JUST read the newsarama boards at Marvel)

I was wondering what you guys all thought on the issues brought up? I don't know whether this coulda been put in another thread but i thought some important stuff was said. stuff that affects peter parker.

Oh and the whole "reset button" thing for civil war 7 was very much dismissed. All in all though i'm glad there was some hint at exploring past changes to spider-man once civil war is over

I am really worried about the "button" in the last issue..I recall from some previous Joe's Fridays, someone had been talking about MJ or the marriage , and he had said: wait till you see the last page of CW 7..

Okay, so JMS just verified Iron Spidey cancels out a need fer all of SPidey's new powers, and that it's redundancy is a good reason fer it to go away...

Seriously, WTF is wrong with these people. If yer gonna create somethin', yer sposed to give reasons fer it to STAY, not be tossed aside! Otherwise, don't bother! Dumbasses.

so spidey's 28... kool, just like we thought . and about the powers, "most" of the "fans" hate "the other" (it was more or less mah for me). honestly, do we really want spidey with all those extra powers? he was doing fine before he got them. allthough, i did like the nightvision and the web vibration thing.

i wonder if thor can kick the sentry's ass? i hope so, cause i think sentry may team up with Iron Man and i hope thor comes back( even though i don't like thor. i respect him, but i don't like him.)

I'm just sayin; you create stuff just so ya can get rid of it, what t'hell is the point?

with marvel? it's money

most of the variants are for new fans who dont have the attatchment to SpiderMan that alot of long time fans have.....and yes there is the money thing.

Well, if you read between the lines, Joe Quesada never said that Peter being publicly known as Spider-Man was going to be permanent, only that he would still be public and unmasked next year. Kevin Smith reportedly said it would be restored in a "few months time." Well, next year IS in a few months time. Six actually, give or take a few weeks. Or, if you consider that Civil War #7 comes out in November of this year, then it will be two months until 2007.

Also, Joe Q did say in last weeks New Joe Friday's that Peter would be unmasked for at least a year and a half. Also, there's still the matter of the mini series also coming out in 2007 written by JMS that is supposed to "fix" Spider-Man and make him resemble something closer to what Stan Lee and Steve Ditko concieved, as according to the interview JMS and Joe Q gave to Newsarama two months ago. Then you've got the thrid Spider-Man movie coming out as well, meaning Marvel will want to capitialize on that. All of which tells me that, sometime next year, Peter's secret identity somehow will be restored.

JOE QUESADA: Thanks for giving us your money for a multi-part Spider-Man crossover that didn't really matter in the long run, suckers!

the iron spidey suit was part of the "corruption" of peter parker. joining the wrong side in the war, unmasking when he shouldn't. it was there to show how his sense of responibility is (for once) misplaced. it was always sed the costume would last as long as it had to. and thats as long as civil war sees fit. i personally hope he keeps it and just symbolicly changes it to look like the classic design (cos he can change its appearance) and then when the war ends throws it back in iron mans face.woo.

i think the "still unmasked in 2007" thing shows it wont be covered up by the end of civil war. i hope pete keeps his new-found strength and speed come the new powers disappearing and i hope its tied into that "the other" creature.

i hate the idea of spider-man regressing though. i wana see new villains, new girls, new ideas mixed in with old foes, not just "i live with my aunt may", "i fight doc ock, venom and green goblin" and i have no wife and child. there is some serious stuff that needs to be done with spider-man books. i recommend Invincible for anyone that wants n ew ideas, tragedy, shocks, violent fight scenes and lots and lots of laughs. brilliant book. Put ASM to shame most of the time. Rob Kirkman da man!

oh aqnd the finger on the button thing: 1 hero (iron man?) or a villain posing as help in the registration side goes mental and unites the heroes of both sides. basically he might have his finger on the LITERAL nuclear warfare button. something like that anyway.

I didn't see the reference to this board.

there are references to kevin smith's radio appearance in which he says that the unmasking will be covered up soon enough. joe said he didnt hear it but that he knew it was leaked on some board. i dont post on other boards but i know it was put up in a thread here on the day. someone sed theyd heard the radio show so if they were the source any betting its this board? probs not, but who knows.

The part that was funny was the one with the... "Making a big huge event thne having it retconned by Wanda sucking..." Wasn't that the house of M??

"JQ: While someone will have a finger on something, it won’t be a reset button. Could you think of a bigger cheat than to take fans for a ride for seven issues and then suddenly having Wanda or someone like that come around and say that Civil War never happened? Wow, that would suck"

Yeah, the irony is a little too thick in this... he must be doing his self-mocking schtick that tries to ignore his failings... or he really is that dumb. Its a toss up.

nah, i think ur twisting it too much. house of M wasnt retconned.it did exactly wat it was supposed to -- make a major change. for most we just didnt care about the change. millions of mutants down to 198 - not really a retcon. and everything else wasnt really the point as so they neglected (however syupidly) to explore it.
