^^He was probably just staring up at the camera and resting after that tremendous mental effort. He started swimming as soon as the camera changed angles.

And, as a result of that intense strain, he thought to hisself, "Well, screw saving the world, I almost drowned! I'm going back to robbing backs and making fireballs."

Everything they shoot in the movie they show for a reason. PLus, how would it not be a rehash of the sesond movie? and how would it serve an emotional story that teaches peter a lesson?

Ock Lives?!

WR-OH, I just dont have the strength.

Corpse ? where's the corpse ?

We just see him falling on water and then nothing

So to me he is still there and I smell some sinister reunion sooner than later on big screen
this is just my opinion but i dont thinksisnister six would work. first, we saw in spider-man 3 that multiple villains just doesnt work. second, people would just get mad if doc ock came back to life because it would be just a re-hash. plus we see him floating around underwater with a dead expression on his face, not breathing. plus even if the arms did power back up, how can they revive a man whos been dead for at least one minute!?

also i feel like maybe you guys are onto something, so can somebody find me a picture or video of his arms powering back up and him coming to life??

I'm sure he's dead. He drowned. But really its up to sony... if they want him alive then he will be alive. If they want him dead then he is dead. PLus it is also up to Alfred, though he mentioned if Ock cam eback he would do it.

I honestly think he's dead. If he was alive, why didn't he struggle to swim back up? The fusion thing was already going down, what point would there be in him just aimlessly floating down to the bottom of the river? It really doesn't matter though, it's a movie and he can be easily resurrected depending on what the film makers want....
But, personally, I don't want to see any more Ock. He was awesome in the second movie, but I want some new villains.

exxactly. And thats the same thing with venom. if the filmakers decide that venom is a good idea, they'll bring him back. If they don't want him, then he will still be dead. I want new villains plus a little more venom.

Me to, but if he comes back, i'm sure he'll be a zombie! Imagine a zombie with sentient tentacles, holy crap i'd be frightened! Theres no where to run, and nowhere to hide!

yeah there is just no way the could come up with a story that shows how he is still alive.

The zombie thing is cool...
But he is, without a doubt,D-E-D.
Not only did he drown and sink to the bottom of the river, dragged down by the dead weight of those tentacles; but he was under the equivalent of a miniature sun.
***Tangent Time***
That's one thing I never understood. If this thing WAS a mini star, hiw did it not burn everyone alive? It had the power to vaporize metal, for cryin out loud! WTF!
All boo-boos aside, though, this one was my favorite.

I'm sure there is a way to show that He is alive. I mean maybe He doesn't have to come out of the water. He could have came out of the water a few minutes after Peter and MJ were on that giant or web or maybe while they were on the giant web. Ock can be hiding out in any old warehouse in NYC. But I could be wrong about how He would come back. I know the He isn't dead though because it has been said in an interveiw with Alfred Molina (or Sam, I forgot which one) that Ock isn't dead.

can you PM me that interview?

also, what would he do if he came back up? he went through the moral transition and everything so now he's a good guy...so would he just kinda put around and exchange phone calls with peter? cause hes a goodguy now if he is alive..

Watch the special features on the SM-2 DVD. They also strongly hint that Ock lives.

Here is my dream scenario... last scene of SM5... and King Pin is rounding his thugs... Kraven, Mysterio, and Sandman recently join the team at the very end along with Vulture and electro... and it goes like this...

King Pin: You clowns want Spiderman... then you'll need a captain who can take him down.

(Coming down the staircase)... Doc Ock: So tell me, what have ya'll done with my tentacles (bites an apple) hahahahahaha............... (roll credits)

"He's dead, Jim."

Well, I hope he is.

Don't get me wrong, Doc Ock is my favorite villain, but he redeemed himself through sacrifice (which is the main theme of Spider-Man 2). If he came back in any of the future movies, I think that it would cheapen his character.
