How did Harry know where Doc Ock's hideout was?

Okay i rewatched the film and harry never discloses the location of ock at least on screen.

The scene could have played out like this.

Peter: Please i have to no where he is.
Harry: I dont know

Peter swings out the window and swings around a bit before finding a glowing building with a bunch of metal things pointing in its direction.

I agree with the others that this isn't a plot hole.

Ock approaches Harry and asks for tridium.

Harry goes: You'll blow up the city! But he agrees to get Ock tridium in exchange for Spidey.

Harry then (off screen) organises to get tridium AS WELL AS FINDING OUT WHERE POTENTIALLY CITY DESTROYING EQUIPMENT IS BEING SENT SO THAT HE CAN BE IN AUSTRALIA OR SOMEWHERE AFTER OCK GETS THE TRIDIUM.

Oops, didn't mean to hit the caps lock. Honest.

Original version is probably like book:

PP: Where's Ock?

HO: You killed my dad!

PP: Where's Ock?

HO: .........

PP: Where's Ock?

HO: You killed my dad!

PP: Where's Ock?

HO: .........

PP: Where's Ock?

HO: You killed my dad!

PP: Where's Ock?

HO: .........

HO: .........

Then Peter jump's out the window to find Ock himself and just traces the flying paperclips and stuff to the source.

Oops, didn't mean to hit CTRL C, then CTRL V a few times there. Honest. Would I lie?

I brought the same subject up a while ago. Yeah, I kinda wonder too.

Maybe he never told Peter. It just cut, and we assume that he told him...but hey, Harry would be like..."Do you think I would know? I'm gonna unbutton my shirt now. You wanna get it on?" Peter: "...oooookay, I'm leavin' now. I'll use my Spidey senses to find her."

Meh. I dont pay attention to that kind of stuff. I just worry about the movie.:o

I dont think it's a plothole. Who said Harry knew at all? Maybe Pete used some detective skills and followed him. Hmmmm there's a crap load of metal objects being pulled towards one direction. From Pete's last encounter with the atrificial sun, I think he would realize what's going on.

Did you watch the movie??

The reactor didn't go haywire until well after Spidey had arrived in Ock's lair.

Doc Ock said:
It's a valid point.

I always said we should have had the Spidey tracers introduced in SM-2. Spidey could have slipped one on Ock during the train fight, and was then able to track him to his lair.

But no. Harry mysteriously knew where Ock was, despite the fact Ock never told him at all.
 they should have done that.

Maybe Spidey just FOUND Ock's hideout, and Raimi decided it would be more dramatic if Spidey just showed up there.

All the problems with this movie and THIS one strikes you?

How did Harry know where Octopus' hideout was?

I'd like to know why Octopus was a little ***** who let a rich punk tell him what he will, and will not do.

Plot holes and horrible writing abound.

Only problem is, that Ock never started up the machine again until Spidey had already found him!!!!! Unlucky its a plot hole.

Spidey begging him for the information, then showing up there. Says pretty clearly that Harry told him...despite not knowing. OR maybe Spidey visited Doc Ock's favorite store and asked for directions. You know the store-"Giant experimental pieces of equipment that require the funding of huge corporations Inc-we deliver!".

that is true, maybe, ock told harry where his hide out was, how did he know though, ock probably told him.

I revisited Spider-Man 2 yesterday, and this stuck out like a sore thumb. I apologize if this has been pointed out before, but I wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything.

So Peter and Harry have their little moment near the end, and Harry decides to tell Peter where Doc Ock is hiding so Spidey can save the day. Well, I don't ever recall Doc Ock giving out this information to Harry, and I seriously doubt he would.

Doc Ock had nothing to gain and everything to lose by disclosing his secret location with Harry.
The deal was simple, Spider-Man for the Tritium(sp?), where does telling Harry his base of operations come in handy? It's not like Harry was going to hand deliver it to Ock's new doorstep.

I never saw Ock tell Harry where his hideout was on screen, though even if I'm to assume Harry was told offscreen, it's an incredibly boneheaded move. It gives Harry a plethora of options that can screw him over after their "deal" (One being telling Spider-Man -.-), and it kinda knocks the movie down for me.

There is a perfectly feasibl way for harry to find out.

Since ock worked for him before, he would have needed to order supplies for his original experiments, and he would then need to re-order this stock in a larger bulk for his larger experiment. Harry would simply need to trace back to his supplier and ask where they have sent large masses of significant pieces of equipment vital for the experiment to go on....

although technically this would be a simple thing to do and the police would have realistically thought about doing it as well, although they wouldn't know what ock was doing, only harry would know making it possible for him alone to discover the location of the hideout.

but alas, it seems that's too complex for children to grasp...

that's at least how i imagine it happening.

but, ocks hide out was an old warehouse at the docks, how would harry know where ock was after the explosian in the lab, its kinda confusing.

er...didn't you read what i said?

by contacting the same company that supplied the necessary tools for ock's oscorp experiment and asking if they have had a large order of similar parts in recent weeks/months to another location, they could then trace it back to the docs

and the reason why harry/peter would know that ock would be building something of this sort is obviously because they would both know about the tritium being used and see the obvious connection.

so harry wouldn't know off head but he could certainly find out relatively quickly.

thats true;).

Eh. I still want to know why the police aren't hot to trot after Spiderman. They never resolved the issue of the cops being after him in the first one, and no one seems to care in the second one.

some police officers realize hes a hero, some police officers hate spiderman, also, because they could not catch spiderman.

its fair to say the 'saving kids from tram' incident as well as the respect from the general new york crowd on the brigde (as well as the time that passes from that film to the sequel) is more than enough to sway their opion of him...

i mean crikey, in the next film he [BLACKOUT]has a parade in his honour[/BLACKOUT]

Eh, true, I often forget the "Fantastic Four Principal":if you're responsible for something that puts the lives of innocent people in danger, but manage to rescue everyone, people forgive and forget. ESPECIALLY if it involves a bridge, apparently.

It's a big plot hole but It's nothing where you compare it to the biggest plot hole in the Spider-Man franchise so far "Where did Green Goblin get the spear?"
that's hardly a plothole. the man has all of Oscorp at his disposal, he probably just made the spear.

and i agree with the people who say harry didn't tell peter, and that he just found his way their. hell, maybe harry just knew the general direction.

I never noticed this and have watched my dvd at least 6 times. You observant forumers must've looped this movie infinitely more times. I'm going to love this place. :D

In the novel the spear was attached to the glider, I believe.

Would have been nice to show this onscreen.

pssh thats nothing.

why in the world would doc ock throw a car directly at the heads of peter and mj when he still has to ask peter to find spiderman for him!!?

oh and where the hell was doc when he threw the car anyway? the car comes flying out of nowhere, peter and mj get up and look around towards the street for like 2 minutes and FINALLY doc reveals himself. wut did he threw a curve ball around the corner of the street!? AUGH!!!
