The Dark Knight Did this small scene annoy anyone else?

it was just to add some little humor.

Joker's pencil trick was kind of stupid.

The one scene that sets the tone of the movie...the one scene was talked about by people, fans and non-fans alike?

Where do you people come from?

People are complaining that the post party scene of the Joker escaping was written yet not included: but it didn't need to be included because everything it conveys I assumed happened anyway. It would have been dead wood.

Another thing that annoyed me. Joker had ALOT of contacts and networks for the crazy loner that he is. He had guys in the court (the judges card). In Loebs office. In the ferry service (two entire engine rooms filled with bombs! no one noticed?) Guys in television transmission, guys in the hospital. And we never saw any of this at all. In fact all we saw is that Joker employs escaped lunatics, and makes even less sense. It added a bit of a cartoonish quality to the Joker, that he can just kind of do anything he wants.

The reason the Joker has so many "connections" is because he's got a LOT of money. The bank heist in the beginning scored him 68 million and since he doesn't care about money bribing someone to plant a joker card for 10000 is no big deal for him. He burned his half of the mob money that Lau tried to store (that was described in the script as billions and billions), but he still has cash somewhere. He burned the mob money to get under their skin.

For the Joker card at the judges bench all he had to do was tell a goon to give some clerk $1000 (or 10,000 or whatever arbitrary money sum) to plant the card. Same with Loeb's office, the police department was riddled with corrupt cops working for the mob or for themselves. It's simple really. He's still a loner, he had goonies and lackeys doing his dirty work, no one actually, besides his crew, saw the Joker and even his crew were out of the loop.

I like it how Bruce really didn't give a crap who was love making in his room, he just seemed so badass disarming Joker's thugs and dismantling the rifle.

Well people dissed the humor in Batman Begins also, and I found it excellent. The cops reactions to the tumbler chase was priceless.

I liked it too..however, and I know this is actually a scene from the last movie but having just rewatched it after seeing TDK..realized that the guy/cop thats blocking the lower level asking "if anyone can at least tell him what it looks like"..and then says "never mind" as the batmobile passes him. I could be wrong here but I think the actor playing the cop in that scene is the same actor/cop on top of the building (telling him to surrender) when they corner the batmobile before he shoots the wall to building jump.

Thoughts?

Most people don't watch movies over and over like most of have on BB or will on TDK so maybe they just didn't think it would get caught.

Now in keeping with the current thread...I too, felt the scene with the kids pretending to be shooting, was okay..it didn't bother me as much as the chopper going down scene with the .."thats not good" comment twice..once WOULD have been enough but I also understand that they were trying to sprinkle in light touches of humor here and there to off-set the tension from time to time, much like they did in the first one, which is why I connected these two posts together to illustrate my point but at the same time not getting carried away with it...lol. This formula worked in the first one as well and it could be also a way to please CORP Heads when they ask Chris Nolan about kids watching the movie..remember, these yahoos are always trying to put in demographics cause they think thats important, rather than just focusing on a quality movie and whoever likes it, likes it!!.. regardless of demographics..sigh..thats the world we live in. Chris Nolan may have simply been trying to keep the yahoos off his back and stay out of his business. ..Or..he liked it and as much as most of probably don't care for it..the fact is ..we all want realism, well, there is humor and smart ass comments in r/l. We want realism, we got it. Sometimes you get exactly what you want only to find out, its not exactly what you wanted. ^ i'm with ya on that one... hell.. i'd bet 100 bucks that those kids are related or are the childen of one of those yahoo's as well...

i can see the WB exec. showing up on set one day.... looking at Nolan with a big smile.. "these are my two kids... i would love it if we could fit them into the movie somehow"...

The only thing that upset me about the film was the kid's pretending to shoot guns when the cars suddenly explode.

I didn't mind the momentary humor, but it just threw off the tone of the chase scene.
