Curse my unfunniness! Serves me right going to take comedy classes from monks in the Himalayas.

Did anyone else have to watch the trailer a few times to work out what Willis said at the end? I figured it out the third time but initially I was left a little confused.

Saw the teaser, as others have said just looks like any old action movie, love Bruce as McClane but the director just gives me no confidence.

I have a feeling the "007 of Planview, New Jersey" is in reference to McClane's son.

DAMN! The trailer itself is much better than Die Hard 4
Much more in line with a 80's non-stop action fest

It's no accident that DH and Vengeance are the best ones and both happen to be directed by John McTiernan.

John Moore is no John McTiernan.

This.

Its a shame McTiernan never got to do his proposed RUN with Thomas Jane.

As far as this film goes, no R rating, no McTiernan & a director I heavily dislike doesn't exactly make it easy for me to enjoy the trailer.

If he ever gets his legal troubles sorted out I hope he can make it back to directing. Dudes too talented and filmography is way too short.

Basic
Rollerball
The Thomas Crown Affair
The 13th Warrior
Die Hard: With a Vengeance
Last Action Hero
Medicine Man
The Hunt for Red October
Die Hard
Predator
Nomads

A couple of stinkers but mostly awesome movies in there. What a waste. Stupid FBI.

Looks terrible, as expected.

Straight to video colours, Willis trying so hard to sound like his 1989/1995 self with a bad delivery of an embarrassingly terrible line, the unfortunate shot of McLane and son sliding under a table shooting bad guys (which proves once and for all they're going off of DH2-4 instead of DH1-3 in terms of what McLane does) and of course the desperate cash-in of Ode to Joy.

I've heard rumors they're aiming for a G rating.

All joking aside I heard a rumor back when The Expendables came out that Willis was impressed (or something) with Stallone making a big budgeted R-Rated movie and he wanted to take Die Hard back to its roots or something like that....

If that is the case, so is the 4 Spider-man films. :jedi

This film......hopefully won't be PG-13.

This country needs a PG-15 or R-15 rating...

What gives me doubts about this movie is director John Moore.

And the fact that it's the fifth movie in a series that realistically probably didn't need to go past the first.

I'm not skeptical because of John Moore, I'm skeptical because it's Die Hard 5 and I don't think the premise holds much potential for a return to something less overblown and more resembling what I think of as a Die Hard movie. I liked Live Free or Die Hard okay, I'll probably like this one okay, we'll see. And I'm certainly not holding my breath for an R rating. I'd expect PG-13 and be surprised if it's not PG-13.

Well, Moore has only done terrible films (imo), so you should be worried about that, too. I agree with the rest of your post, though (except for the DH4 part).

Oh, I left out the part where I'm not skeptical because of Moore because I haven't seen any of his previous movies.

I'm in no rush to seek out Max Payne or the remake of The Omen. I wasn't then either.
