I believe this has potential if they ever get around to it. There are so many stories from the EU so it can't be too hard coming up with a good story to tell about him.

He definitely can tell a good story, but whether or not he actually always does is another matter. He's kine of like Goyer in that way.

However did Lucas write the script for American Grafiti because really that script is not bad.

It was either polished or rewritten by the same duo who wrote TOD. They also polished a lot of the dialogue on ANH. Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz.
