I never said we were in a scientific Golden Age. More like bronze. The idea, though, is that we grow and evolve as a race into a much more peacful community.

Also, the nuclear bomb saved more lives than it lost.

Technology saves waaaay more lives than it harms. Things like medicine, x-ray, hospitals, MRI machines, chemotherapy, etc have saved countless lives. And you would give that up just because of some half-baked religious thing?

We survived for eons without modern technology, which buy the way has not been able to cure any major cancers etc. I dun belong to a religion, and thus I dun care.

Law was determined by barbaric means, for example, if a rock was tied to your foot and you sank in the water, you were guilty. Punishment for your crimes would be death, if their "trial" didn't kill you. Let's also not forget the brutal wars spawned from the so-called "love of God."

Some of the women were treated as objects and playthings, our sole purpose being child-bearing.

And as a black guy, wouldn't you be in Africa? Granted, you might die to disease or something, but I doubt you'd be killed.

I beg to differ. I know many people of a variety of beliefs who think they were born "out of time" and would rather have been born in other time periods.

While arguable, this statement illustrates the point I was making in my earlier post. Just like religion, technology could be USED improperly, or USED to bring about peace and harmony. It has nothing to do with the concepts themselves, but more to do with the idiots...err individuals that use them.

rather than genocide using smallpox blankets etc? We have made international laws etc, ever heard of the hundred years war? We've moved out of relgious wars into scientific peace(relatively). yes the second world war was bad, but c'mon, it was started to prevent genocide....

Evolution is more than an extremely well supported theory. It is a fact in the sense that it be directly observed in a laboratory for bacteria or insects.

I don't know what Darwin says, but science says that we all start off as a pair of XX chromosomes, and only develop the Y chromosome later on.
