Fox News covered the story, the Opinion shows on FNC might not have, but I don't watch them enough to know what they talk about unless they have a guest on that I want to see in a debate.

Oh I figured Fox covered it alittle, I was commenting on why they didn't pre-empt their regular shows and cover it while it was going on like the other news networks did.

They would rather keep harping on the old NY "mosque" story than talk about the combat troops leaving Iraq because it's more scary than the end of a 7+ year war.

I agree that 'Fair and Balanced' is misleading. But, then again so is MSNBC's slogan 'You're Source For News.' These networks are just trying to get viewership so they misrepresent and skew the truth to get more viewers. These stations are basically talk radio but on tv.

You aren't going to do so if Fox's slogan is 'Right Wing News' and MSNBC's is 'Left Wing News.'

actually msnbc's motto is "the place for politics"

and it has been bought by Comcast.

and they claim no neutrality. even though they have a 3 hour bloc of conservative programming hosted by Joe Scarborough on every morning.

much more honorable than the obvious lie of the GOP news network.
who do they think they're kidding? Or actually "How stupid do they think their audience really is?" Seriously. It's a running joke. it's total and abject absurdity.

and yet. they have a small but totally devoted following. true believers. those who have totally bought into the pogrom.(sic)

You've got to be taught
To hate and fear,
You've got to be taught
From year to year,
It's got to be drummed
In your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught.

You've got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made,
And people whose skin is a diff'rent shade,
You've got to be carefully taught.

You've got to be taught before it's too late,
Before you are six or seven or eight,
To hate all the people your relatives hate,
You've got to be carefully taught!

I'm watching Special Report With Bret Baier (sp???) right now and they are talking about the withdrawal..

The Left is going to hate Fox, the Right is going to hate MSNBC.....

Just how it is...

And don't forget the Dylan Ratigan show. He's anything but Liberal.

Watching Shep on Fox and he's reporting on it as well....they interviewed 3 or 4 families.

But Repubs had more incumbents in 2008. What I posted was 2008 and 2010.
No they didn't. Not one bit. In 2006 the Democrats took the majority of governorships and state legislatures and control of both houses of Congress.

And in 2008, it was obvious that Obama was going to win the election by summer and the Democrats expanded upon their majorities in the governorships, state legislatures, and Congress to the point where they had a supermajority in the Senate for a short time.

Just because the Republicans held the White House during the 2008 election, doesn't mean that they were the incumbent party. The Democrats were, by a mile.

Fox News has a "small but loyal following"?

You can like them or dislike them...but the ratings show that they have more viewers than all other cable news networks combined.

I won't show you mine and ask you not show me yours. I'm married and take that oath very seriously. But all kidding aside, I pretty much quit watching the talking heads some time ago so maybe she's moved a bit to center since then. But while Russet was alive I always was a Meet the Press fanboy and she was a frequent guest and sometimes guest host. I base my evaluation on these appearances. I don't recall her stating positions that were not crazy "let's assign everyone a, x-digit number and call them that instead of their name so everyone is equal" far left, but she was surely left and I felt very vicious towards anyone right of center in her interviews and quite unequal in this attitude toward the left. Or, in other words, like you, I used my personal standard :yay:

And American Idol gets more rating than all of them put together, Does that mean we should care what Ryan Seacrest says about the government?

Ratings don't make them truthful, right or good.

I was surprised that they wasn't covering the story because they was a big supporter of the war. I would have thought that us leaving Iraq would be something they would want to complain about.

Then again, It is Fox, If it ain't something that will scare people then they want nothing to do with it.

The Iraq War situation is very interesting. The same people on the right who wanted the troops to leave are now the same ones arguing that Iraq is going to be destablized because the troops are leaving.

When it comes to the troops, politics should be left at the door. We should all be thankful they're coming home.

most will probably be sent back to Afghanistan. or if Israel has it's way and attacks Iran then they might get sent back to Iraq if Iran decides to retaliate. Which I'm pretty sure they will. I wouldn't let Israel dictate to me if I could have nuclear power or not. Especially in light of their own illegal nukes.

so without being able to cite any specific stances she's taken she just kind of came across as a liberal to you?

I've always thought of her as being very centrist and objective, not prone to ideological groupthink.

maybe anyone not conservative enough is considered a liberal? is there no gray area? a middle?

That is the best bit John has ever done on the show. He hit the nail on the head on that one. This shows how todays Right wing manipulates the facts and lies about everything.

A Right winger could tell me the sky was blue and I would have to check before I believed it and odds are that 9 times out of 10 the sky will really be gray.

Loves the implication that the left doesn't do the same thing.

the left? you mean msnbc? afaik GE contributes about equally to both sides. not just one. and about 1/10th as generous. what you don't see is them fundraising for candidates. holding rallies. giving potential candidates their own shows. and refuse to hold both sides to account. msnbc also doesn't insult it's audience's intelligence with it's motto either.
Fox gets away with it because their audience isn't interested in the truth. they tune in to hear what they want to hear. they they're right and everyone else is wrong. and that they are their enemy.
