Sometimes I wish the red states had their own country and the blue states had our own country.

I share nothing in common with people who "rock out" to that childish video.

What are all these people so made about? Because Obama raised taxes on the middle class by how much?

Maybe the Tea Party Movement is angry because Obama and the Congressional Democrats have spent so much that they make Bush look like a fiscal hawk. That they pushed an extremely unpopular health care bill down our throats. That he is raising taxes in ways that will go "unnoticed." Attempting to push through unpopular cap and trade. That he misunderstood his mandate that his election was not an endorsement of liberal policies, but anger towards the ineptitude of the Bush Administration. That he has failed to curb unemployment and the economy appears poised to go into a double dip recession, things that the stimulus that he prides himself on were supposed to prevent.

And then you have the Ron Paul Tea Partiers which are also angry that Obama is continuing the Bush-era policies regarding the USA Patriot Act, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, expanding government, etc.

The Tea Party Movement has a lot of legitimate things to be angry about. Of course anytime the electorate is naive enough to give the Democrats a 60 member supermajority in the Senate, firm control of the House, and the White House, they're obviously going to get drunk with power. Hopefully this election will take Obama on a more moderate route.

I'm pretty sure that ANY PARTY who controls all branches of government gets 'drunk with power'...not just the Democrats.

It's funny that those on the right paint Obama as this ultra-liberal when most of his policies, outside of healthcare, have been shamefully moderate. Most progressives feel Obama isn't doing enough to counter Bush's policies (patriot act, gitmo, wars, wall street bail outs) and should be an unrepentant progressive the way Bush pushed his agenda through without any consideration for the opposition. Bush didn't care if people didn't like him. Obama cares and his weak-willed policies is clear proof that he's trying to please everyone with moderate politics.

This tea party/Glenn Beck movement have mostly gained their momentum from shouting anti-tax rhetoric even though Obama hasn't and doesn't plan on raising taxes on the middle class. The entire thing is laughable.

Obama hasn't "changed" the economy the way he promised even though he did save us from a depression. That's only legitimate argument against him and it nothing to do with taxes.

So there is the video shot by MSNBC and aired on MSNBC and then there are the CLAIMS by Fox News stating that the video blocked out Christopher Broughton's race.

The video

I support Beck's rally.

That's because you're anti-american.

Sometimes I wish the red states had their own country and the blue states had our own country.
Yeah, it would probably be better for us if we didn't in the civil war, unfortunately[/QUOTE]

I'll be very curious to see how many actually turn out for Glenn Beck's NONPARTISAN 'Restore Honor...with special keynote speaker Sarah Palin' event.

I hope not many. I'm tring to get to school to get some work done. I don't need dumb tourist clogging the metro. I know a guy who is going to it. I made fun of him. I really want to know if it will be "non-political" like Beck claims. Today will be fairly interesting.

Economists have said if Obama didn't do the stimulus package the recession could've gotten much worse.

http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-mon...nomy-would-be-in-worse-shape-without-stimulus

Those same economists probably credit the New Deal with getting us out of the Depression. lol.

Beck is a RL Troll

By being a non-partisan advocate of peace?

That's where Beck kills himself. But I understand why he associates himself with Palin. It's because he has no one else and Palin is the closest to the sort of politician he wants - someone who relates to the common man and isn't manipulated by the political machine.

Unfortunately Palin's also an idiot.

Beck needs to find a better politician.

I'm pretty sure that ANY PARTY who controls all branches of government gets 'drunk with power'...not just the Democrats.

Beck would agree.

Yeah, it would probably be better for us if we didn't in the civil war, unfortunately

It would have been. The Civil War was a Constitutional nightmare.

You have said ALOT of crazy things on this board but this takes the cake. Beck is anything but a "Non-partisan advocate of peace".:lmao::lmao:

Dr. Avelda King will be at the rally as well....

yeah she's a pro-life,anti-gay social conservative. Even though she started her political career as a Democrat. She has since 2000 been a supporter of Republicans.

Give us money! We promise to give it to the troop's families. Right after we take our cut ain't that right Glenn? Sean Hannity has the same racket going. Bilking the gullible is so easy.

let's just say she and the rest of the family are not on good terms so any idea the King Family as a whole support this is misleading.

I simply said she was going to be there, not that that meant the entire King family support Glenn Beck.

Quote from Martin Luther King III
"My father championed free speech," he wrote. "He would be the first to say that those participating in Beck's rally have the right to express their views. But his dream rejected hateful rhetoric and all forms of bigotry or discrimination, whether directed at race, faith, nationality, sexual orientation or political beliefs. He envisioned a world where all people would recognize one another as sisters and brothers in the human family."

So, I say we wait to see if there is "hateful rhetoric, bigotry, and discrimination at this rally....

I may not agree with ANYTHING that is said at this rally, but they have EVERY RIGHT to have it.

of course they have every right to say it. and they won't use this highly visible venue for their dogwhistles and race baiting. It'll mostly be emotional appeals. Nationalistic,Jingoist,Theocratic in nature. maybe a little Xenophobia for seasoning. heavy on the righteous indignation.

hah I knew it. Some minister just called Glenn Beck the 2nd coming of Christ. lol

At exactly what point did America lose its honor? When Obama was elected?

Sounds about right. but hey it's not about race. They've made that implicitly clear to the point of overdoing it imo.
Overcompensating is a big tell.

Every time I go to defend you against those who would try to paint you as a right-wing crazy...you go and make a comment like this?

Glenn Beck is about as non-partisan as Keith Olbermann is. You honestly cannot believe some of the things you type on this forum. I tend to think you make comments like this to purposely stir the pot.

Maybe....maybe not.
