They both sound like they're equally unenjoyable to me.

I wish I knew a gay black person. I'd love their opinion on this topic.
ask and you shall recieve. let me begin with a lists of word and their meanings.

Ni99a - black & spanish people use this term all the time when socializing... with each other. a white person cannot use this unless they are cool with the black or spanish person, and even then, it wouldn't be cool for the white person to say.

Ni99er - this term is still used today. by who? racists. this is clearly, and always has and will be, a word used for black people to degrade, describe and/or address them.

Queer - over the years, this term has been used to hurt gays, but in time, gays took this word and made it their own. it's ok for the gays to call each queer. and when a straight person says it to hurt and/or describe a gay it doesn't matter. we be like "we're here, we're queer, get use to it, b****!" (i would never say the queer here speech by the way)

fa99ot/fa9 - this term, no matter what anyone says, is used for hurting gays and/or something stupid like "your girlfriend cheats, you're a ***!" wtf? anyway, the real meaning is a pile of sticks or a smoke, so depending on were you are (like maybe somewhere in london) fa99ot can mean something different.

my whole point to this is that every term has a different meaning, so people can say certain words and it'd be okay... NO!

i don't use ni99a, ni99er, fa9, or queer because no matter how you flip it, they're bad words.

i'm black and their's nothing i can do about that... unless i wanna go all Michael Jackson. it was how i was born and people either accept it or don't.

i'm also gay and it was how i was born. do i act gay? hell no! but i dont hide it either, i let it be known if it's called for.

being gay and being black are both hard. since i'm black, it's alot harder for me to get a job, yes it is, yes it is. i had to go back to school instead. being gay mostly doesn't effect job things like that, so it's not problem. i could not get the job because i'm a ni99er and i'd have the right to be mad. there's no way they'd know i'm gay unless i tell them, so they cant call me a fa9. in this case, being black is worst.

but honestly, you can call me a ni99er and i wont get mad. most black people know how hard it is to live in a world and be called names because of the color of your skin, but most of us except it... but there is no way in hell being called a ni99er is worst then being called a fa9. if anything, they are the same, and people who can't see that are ignorant. (no offense to anyone)

a lot of people accept black people because, as facts prove it, they are born like that. but when it comes to gays, according to some people, we should burn in hell. when it comes to some churches, they have an affect on a lot of peolpe. answer me this, would you ever see two black parents beat on or disown their child because that child is black? no, that's stupid. but i bet there's atleast one family for every and any race who beats or disowns their child because that child is gay, because it not "gods" way. ok...

how many times have you heard stories where the parents be like "i'mma beat that gay outta you, you queer!!" black parents dont say "imma beat the black offa you!"... unless of course their child is late coming home or that child is giving them lip.

my point is that today, in this point of time, fa99ots and ni99ers both have it rough... it's even worst when you're both. they are both very different, but that doesn't mean being one is harder than the other, or that one word means less than the other. hate is wrong no matter what or who you are. i'm gonna quit writing now because none of this, what i'm writing, makes sense to me, so imagine how you're gonna feel.

I think there just every insults,no matter the color or context, same with jesus chirt and god darnit and all that, they dont mean anything anymore.

Hateful words are hateful words, despite how you say them. But i don't have a problem with black people saying n*gger or gay people saying f*ggot. But even them saying it doesn't make it a good or positive word.

Being a negro I dont give too much a **** about.

But being demeaned because I am a negro is insulting. Just the same as it would be to homosexuals or how they feel and the way they are.

There is no difference between the use and point of the words...but there is an obvious difference between the struggles.

But do you think that difference is simply time or the magnitude? To bring a 3rd example into the mix; I've heard long winded debates over who's torment was worse between the Holocaust and Slavery. Slavery had occured for a hell of a long time but people still get caught up over the horror stories about concentration camps.

Extreme human cruelty against other humans is deplorable and comparing one against the other does nothing but serve to trivialize one or the other which should never happen. All these things are or were horrible. There is no sliding scale of atrocity as far as I'm concerned.

I totally agree. Hearing people debate that topic sounds so ridiculous. It almost turns into a bragging competition:

"My people were beaten for over 400 years!"
"Oh yeah, well my people were gased every week!"
"Psh, try being on a cramped little boat for a long trip across the ocean.'
"Cramped!? You wanna talk about cramped...."

:(

When I read the thread topic i thought this was going to be a thread about the Gay ****** Association of America

I'm all for both words being super, mega-taboo but my mother feels differently because she doesn't think the homosexual struggle is as bad as the African American struggle.
Tell her homosexuals have been consistently persecuted since the Middle Ages. They were convicted for being sodomists, tortured and killed in the most horrendous ways.

I don't know who "got it worse" in the course of the centuries, gay people who were burned at the stake, black people who were sold as slaves and worked to death, but it's a pretty short-sighted point of view to condone derogatory vocabulary for one persecuted minority just cause another minority supposedly had a worse time of it.

A tangent thought:

A while back, I called something "******ed" (can't remember what). A girl who I was with chided me for saying it. She said it was "like using 'gay' as a synonym for 'stupid'."

Isn't ******ation by definition severe stupidity

******ation (proper) - a slowing down, holding back. a state of not having the same mentel abilities as most people.

******ed (slang) - can be used as a joke when someone says something not quite right. the person doesn't mean anything by it, just meaning "man, you stupid!" also, this term can be used to lowers ones self-esteem. if person A says that person B is ******ed when person B clearly isn't, person B may feel hurt and start thinking that everyone else thinks lowly of him/her.

It dont matter what you are if you live in the U.S.A. like i do we are all f@#ked they way this country is being run.

I stopped calling things "******ed" a while back after a very embarassing incident in high school; allow me to explain. My high school had a program called Blue/Gold(maybe you've heard of it). It's for mentally challenged kids and there was a week full of activities for the kids in my school. During an assembly which was dimly lit, my friend pulls out a lighter to read his program. A lighter! To read a piece of paper! He literally had the flame 2 cms away from the paper. I snatched the lighter and said to him "What, are you ******ed?"........just as there was a silent break in the assembly. I'd never had more eyes on my in my life and I think like 50 people stopped me in the hallway afterward to explain how insensitive that was of me to say. :(

I can only speak from a black perspective.

Old black people are scratching their heads wonderin', "What is wrong with these young black people?"

They got beaten with billy clubs, lynched, marched, sat at the bacxk of the bus, bitten by police dogs, hosed down, spit on and just plain murdered, so that no one would ever be called ****** again.

Somewhere some old black guy is scratching his head and saying "My uncle could have stayed home that day and not been killed and still had the same result. :(

I hate the "n" word. But like many things this younger generation does get, this is just one more thing.

The meaning of this word is lost on them because never suffered.

It seems to be that with each generation people become more tolerant and respectful of differences in race, religion, ethinicity, sexual preference, etc... I remember when my wife's grandmother was still alive a few years ago I actually heard her say once "it's raining pitchforks and ni**er-babies!" I just sat there dumbfounded that someone so nice could be so insensitive and oblivious to social norms. I guess it was totally acceptible back in her day to say stuff like that out in public, so I assume that society will eventually progress to the point of almost everyone respecting homosexuals. At least I hope that's the case.

That's hilarious in Shaun of the Dead.
