🇺🇸 Discussion: Guns, The Second Amendment, NRA - Part II

US News
He's exactly right and the religious right should be paying more attention.

Guns are part of their religion now, nevermind they did not exist 2000 years ago.

Everybody being sensible except us. :(

Yeah, that's not creepy at all. How has he not been arrested? Those poor kids.:(

See this sort of thing to me, doesn't help gun owners case for pushing back on gun control laws, like at all. Being out in a public place with a weapon in full display, in hand, particularly something as big as an AR-15, should be an arrestable offence no questions asked. No reason at all for him to have that firearm on him or out in public, protest or not.

Honestly shocked the cops haven't taken him down, because you know...

Open carry is just so stupid.

Open carry really is stupid because it seems to be about intimidation to me. I'm not feeling safer seeing that. Just the opposite. It's scary.

Did he think this was show and tell? Geez... And, was that daddy's gun? Unsecured?

I don't use them period. There's been women passengers raped as well as women drivers raped. :( Not safe.

Not just left a gun in the couch but a loaded gun. Presumably with the safety off. In the frickin' living room with a toddler. Exactly the sort of person who shouldn't own such a weapon.

According to a court filing, police said Nevills told them he "zoned out" while high on marijuana and was scrolling through his phone when the shooting occurred.
"I don't understand this," The Associated Press reported him saying. "I'm trying to see how they're saying this is my fault. I didn't shoot and kill him."

You're responsible and accountable, dumb ass. Kids don't shoot themselves or other people when there's no loaded gun to be found left lying around.

Maybe when more neglectful parents get held accountable sloppy gun owners will sharpen up.

Yeah sure blame the cannabis for you leaving a loaded gun in the couch.

USA Today - Boyfriend charged with manslaughter after Michigan toddler shoots self
A preliminary investigation by police found the gun was in a couch inside the apartment.
This reminds me of a time I moved in with a woman in San Francisco. Her girlfriend had moved out a little earlier. When I moved in, she and I had a few too many Bloody Marys to celebrate. When I woke up in the morning (with something of a hangover), my hand was between the mattress and box spring and I was touching a 38 revolver. When she woke up, I showed her the gun and told her where it was. I don't know that I ever saw her angrier. Her face turned bright red and the look on her face could have curdled milk.

I wouldn't be happy about that myself. Makes me think there are way too many unsecured weapons out there. :(
