🇺🇸 Discussion: Guns, The Second Amendment, NRA - Part II

US News
Sensible to who? Because if I remember correctly, the South did not exactly believe it was sensible.

We don't need to repeal the 2nd Amendment. There is nothing in the 2nd Amendment that says we can have as many guns as we want without restriction. That is how gun nuts are choosing to interpret the 2nd Amendment. That is how the NRA chooses to use the 2nd Amendment to justify their position. The text itself does not support that.
I agree.

Is the next generation going to shed blood for what they believe in? No...so what’s the point of that comparison?

We’re screwed if another Country invades us in 50 years. You ready to speak Russian?

The next generation has already shed blood. This is the post Columbine generation. I think having to go through active shooter drills in addition to fire and tornado drills may have an effect on their politics.

You sight no evidence the other way around. What is your evidence here?

The NRA sells a lifestyle built around guns. To sell the most guns possible. That is there job.

It's called common sense. The Assault Weapons Ban is not really a ban since millions of those weapons and magazines would still be out on the streets, available for criminals. Cops are equipped with 15 round magazines to protect themselves, but common folks don't? What sense does that make? Maybe you should just let people decide what they need to defend themselves, m'kay?

So common sense only applies to your argument?

For anyone that contends the NRA doesn't have a role in the inability to prevent some of these mass shootings, you really need to look into some of the crap their lobby pulls and how they get ATF to operate like it's still the 1970's:

https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2013/02/atf-gun-laws-nra/

Basically the ATF can't use ****ing computers because the NRA has lobbied Congress to pass riders on their statute that dooms them to using the equivalent of the dewey decimal system to track gun crimes, usage, sales. etc.

Have you been paying attention? These shooters are buying their guns legally from FFLs and passed their background checks. The problem is with our government failing to enforce The law. The ATF wanted to create a gun registry. Gun registration eventually leads to gun confiscation.

"You snowflake kids need to just suck it up and get over it! *dials phone and lowers voice* Hi, Carol? Yeah, it's me. I just wanted to tell you, your son is being very mean to me on social media, and I was just wondering if you could do something about that?"

Happy Easter!

It depends on what people mean by "common sense gun control." Gun control advocates rarely clarify what they mean other than banning a very popular rifle which has killed fewer Americans than fists, knives, or feet.

It amazes me how the left is both a bunch of snowflakes and super scary militants at the same time.

That was kinda dumb. If you wanted any sort of accuracy beyond just doing some gun porn then you'd line them up in a row and count from there. Hell, just doing some basic math could get you a decent estimate. Force from gun, density of peeps and bullet, and so on.

Yes, I'm the type of person who'd be genuinely curious about the answer instead of just watching something explode. He didn't even bother giving an estimate on how many went kablooey in the end beyond, "You guys figure it out."

I'm literally showing you a prime example of how the government is hampered from being able to do any kind of meaningful enforcement.

Gun registration eventually leads to gun confiscation.

Please support your NRA-sponsored, fear mongering claim with evidence.

For the record, my cars, home, and business are all registered with the government. None of them have been confiscated.

We as humans are registered with the Government and the Right want everyone to be legally registered to exercise their RIGHT to legally vote. So, why is it wrong to register guns to exercise your RIGHT to legally bear arms. That’s hypocrisy. You can’t have it both ways.

I’m pro gun registry. There’s no reason anyone can legitimately and legally oppose that.

It amazes me how the right talks about personal responsibility and what a bunch of snowflakes are on one side of their mouth then in the next cry how they are being persecuted for their beliefs on the other

So long as you pay your mortgage, car payment, and don’t defraud your taxes. Gun ownership with licensing and insurance.

The YouTube HQ. Wonder if it's response to the company not policing their site very well.

More likely someone unhappy with the enforcement of their policing.

Fox just said the shooter was a woman. **** shaming gone bad? :(

Domestic issue probably.

Yup, that's what Fox just said. :( Shooter shot herself after shooting her boyfriend.

I suppose Trump will be disappointed it isn't an immigration issue he can use to scare more people.

I'm sure he will find some way to tie this into one of his agendas.
