You really just needed to live through that time of "ra-ra america" to know it was true.
Ah that jingoism though.
Flag pins galore.

Okay.
"No sitting Republicans who were in Congress in 2001 voted against the PATRIOT Act."

80% of Republicans supported extending the PATRIOT Act in 2005.

It's only when Obama became president that support for the PATRIOT Act fell to 52% among Republicans

They also voted for Trump.

Ok, so now the Democrats are for the Patriot Act and against the 2A while the Republicans are the opposite. I thought you said 2A supporters loved the Patriot Act.
I was going through an old Photobucket account and came across this gem. It's close to 10 years old from a local shop near me. Now, tell me people selling guns don't exploit the fears of gun nuts?

Mike, bruh bruh, you think if the American military decides to enforce a presumably unlawful order to enslave/mass imprison/mass murder the American people that a bunch of people armed to the teeth with what they can buy at gun shows/stores is going to stop them?
What's your home defense AR-15 going to do against a drone strike from several miles away?
I'm more likely to get shot by an idiot with a gun than a terrorist or the government. This whole "I need my AR-15 to stop government tyranny" is childish, unrealistic, and poorly thought out.
Maybe if you had a cache of flintlocks in 1790, I might buy this logic. But it's 2018. You're not going to stop government tyranny with a gun. And to make that point even more moot, your track record shows you'd probably support the demagogue. In the meantime people are getting shot left and right.
This is like Sean Hannity's fantasy that he's going to take out the Las Vegas shooter on the 32nd floor with a handgun.
This is not how these things work. Governments typically become tyrannical AFTER they ban guns. It's a lot easier to control an unnamed population. Give up our guns and we'll be just like the U.K.- Cutting sreaks with butter knives, getting arrested over social media posts, and courts deciding if your infant son is deemed fit to live or not.
Cliven Bundy managed to fend off BLM back in 2014. The track record of citizens giving up their guns is not good. Just ask the Jews.
Also, you don't know anything about me or my track record, so piss off!
Also You seem right wing as **** dude. What am I missing?
Yeah that's kind of BS.
Look if you want a gun to defend your house, that's fine. I can actually buy that argument. But this notion that guns safeguard democracy is just stupid.
The government just turns the gun owning people on a hated minority. The Nazis actually loosened gun laws for most Germans. Just not Jews, obviously.
Also nice job tying in all those topics.
We can not have weekly school shootings and not turn into the UK you know. This isn't 1776.
Democrats are the ones instilling fear with the assault weapons ban, Gun Confiscation ballot measures, and redefining "assault weapons" as ALL semi-automatic rifles. I can see through your lies.

Thank you.You called someone else a liar that even if you disagree with their conclusions had a logical POV based of the public record and the experience all adults of a certain age had from the period referenced.
You then start trafficking in stupid conspiracy theories and suspect your fellow citizens of being part of a mass movement (which NEVER materializes) to forcibly disarm Americans.
There is way more evidence to call a person that spouts off that heated rhetoric a credulous wacko fool than to label Hotwire a liar.
My sincere sympathies for the wounded, and the families of the victims in today's mass shooting in Maryland.
This is America.
Not in a position to watch the news just this second. Saw a comment in another thread about a shooting. So was coming in here to see if there was a comment on it. So another mass shooting? I mean given how fast they're increasing, and how much larger the body counts are becoming. I shouldn't be surprised, but still.
I know it's asking for a lot, but hoping not many were injured, let alone killed. Especially hoping this isn't a school shooting.
Fox is speculating it might be retaliation against fake news or something.![]()
