I work with a guy who I consider a responsible gun owner. He's a former marine who has put his family through gun safety training and they go to the range on occasion and shoot. He has also passed an FBI background check (has to in order to work where we do); although I don't know if he went through a background check to buy his guns. I think anyone who wants to buy a gun should go through a complete background check and be required to have up to date gun training. Like @Lily Adler said; like having a driver's license. A gun can do just as much, or more, damage than a car. Why not have people licensed? Any gun owner who allows their children to play with a gun or behaves irresponsibly, should have their guns taken away.

Interesting thought and could be true, but at least people have a choice when they listen to something. It's true that words matter and influence people. Still, I'd rather listen to a politician than get shot.....generally speaking anyway.

I really do think that there needs to be more control on guns in terms of education and background checks.
