So, now McCain has publicly come out against Graham-Cassidy. Guess that explains the rather blatant bribe to Murkowski of allowing Alaska to keep it's Medicaid expansion. We will see if the bribery has worked on Murkowski or Collins, though I seem to doubt it.
Next week is going to be stressful.
It was a mistake for Jeff Flake to go onto Colbert.
Of course the Alaska bribe has problems since it would seem to violate the Uniformity Clause of the Constitution so even if the bribe was accepted it could be challenged in court and they end up being forced to lose ACA along with everyone else.
I don't think you understand how the Uniformity Clause works, where on earth did you read that?
The manner in which you would have to interpret the Uniformity Clause to get that Graham-Cassidy Bill is Unconstitutional would be an interpretation of that clause we have not seen. It would call into question a lot of other federal programs as well even the ACA in its entirety with some states not accepting the Medicaid expansion but paying the increase in taxes to pay for Medicaid in other states. And of course there is this gem at the end of the articleThe Uniformity Clause is rarely litigated, and it seems like a provision the Court is reluctant to give much life to.
I have not studied the proposed text and operation of the Cassidy-Graham reform bill to know whether either of these claims would (or should) ultimately prevail.
I just read up on this dude, wow. Alabama for reals?
GOP sold their soul to get all three branches and now the devil is coming to collect.
He's an absolute moron. Go watch his video where he talks about how the first amendment only applies to Christians.
This is Alabama. I'm sure they love that.
