Yeah, let the 10 jerks who actually want to secede move to an island. Idiots don't speak for all of us in Texas.

Are these the same 10 people who are Houston Astros fans, or am I thinking of a different 10 people? :oldrazz:

Actually those 10 live in the Davis mountains, no where near Houston.....:cmad:

That's a satirical website. Though it's telling that more and more people can't tell the difference.

Some of the site's other headlines are...

Palin Announces 2014 Presidential Run

and

Tancredo: GOP Should Have ‘Hated Latinos More’

I honestly didn't know that. Okay...withdrawn.

Even though I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't truly believe that. You know they believe Hurricane Sandy and the Gays were working together to bring Romney down. LOL

Reading some of these, it seems like they slipped in some real headlines. It's hard to tell some times.

If these people are gonna call for secession every time someone is elected they don't like, they can feel free to let the door hit them in the ass on the way out.

I find it kind of funny and sad that some conservatives are blaming the electorate for this defeat. That is not good politics at all, in a democracy a party has to earn the loyalty of the people, not the other way around. If a majority of people felt the GOP did not present a good case in this election, why should they vote for them? Really a lot of these comments come off as spiteful and its not good idea to base politics on spite

The GOP needs to learn to look inwards instead of casting around for scapegoats, or they will continue to slide further down the path to outdated irrelevancy.

Good. Then the Libertarian Party or some other party will rise up or come out.

I voted no, because I want the GOP gone

Let me elaborate, I want the GOP gone, with no more viable second party. Only a one party majority.

One party states are states you don't want to live in.

I wouldn't really call the American political parties unified per se. It's the old joke, "I'm not a member of any organized political party, I'm a Democrat".

Each has sizable factions, which in most other countries would be separate parties.

Liberal party only? Because if you eliminate the GOP that's all you'll have left...is the left.

Actually, about half the Democratic party would be considered center, or even slightly to the right in most countries.

Since the Republicans have become increasingly far right, someone had to occupy the center.

Not that I'm advocating a one party state (that's a terrible idea). But the Republican Party needs to move back towards the center. They are now farther from the center than the Democrats were in the 60's and 70's.

Omg!

Best. Read. Ever.

Romney IS President

Romney and Tea Party loonies dismissed half the country as chattel and moochers who did not belong in their “traditional” America. But the more they insulted the president with birther cracks, the more they tried to force chastity belts on women, and the more they made Hispanics, blacks and gays feel like the help, the more these groups burned to prove that, knitted together, they could give the dead-enders of white male domination the boot.

Romney was still running in an illusory country where husbands told wives how to vote, and the wives who worked had better get home in time to cook dinner. But in the real country, many wives were urging husbands not to vote for a Brylcreemed boss out of a ’50s boardroom whose party was helping to revive a 50-year-old debate over contraception.

And the best part:

Last time, Obama lifted up the base with his message of hope and change; this time the base lifted up Obama, with the hope he will change. He has not led the Obama army to leverage power, so now the army is leading Obama.

I want to kiss this reporter. She nails it! :hrt:

Texans should just come out and say bluntly that they hate the democratic process, and they much rather be appointed the state that has all the electoral votes. :whatever:

I might have told my fiance that if he voted for Romney, he'd better be traditional like Republicans demand we all be (ie, men are the breadwinner, women stay home and cook) and start paying all of the rent hisself. :hehe: Until two months ago, he was only paying 30% of the rent. :oldrazz:

The party needs progressive conservatism, but it can't embrace that without traditionalists decrying it as socialism in disguise.

I don't sympathize. While I'm fiscally conservative, I refuse to support a party that relies on religious favoritism, subtle racism, misogyny, and homophobia to win elections.

And I certainly don't understand why "conservative" has to mean conservative on EVERYTHING.

The Libertarian Party would rise up out of the ashes dude...you keep forgetting this...damn.

It wouldn't only be the Libertarian party. The Tea party (Base Republicans) would also abandon the Republican party. Democrats would stay in power for a number of years but would eventually succumb to infighting. The only thing holding the Democratic parties coalition together is an opposition to the Republican and with no out right Republican threat those faction can now defect. Liberal would abandon the Democrat part for the Green Party. Then you would end up with 5 political parties.

It might be a pipe dream but one can wish. :oldrazz:
The Republican party (Moderate Republicans)
Tea Party (Hardcore Conservatives)
Libertarian Party (Less Government party)
Democratic Party (Blue Collar Labor Party)
Green Party (Liberals and Progressives)

Yes, because a couple wack jobs represent the entire population of Texas :whatever:

I was right! I knew that if Romney lost, the Republicans would be having an identity crisis. Look at them confused at the rise and fall of the Tea Party and the rejection of the ideas that they thought would help them win (women's rights, immigration reform, and gay rights). They better get to work retooling their party or else they will continue to slip further into oblivion when another Democrat wins in 2016.
