sorry if this has been raised elsewhere(the search option ist working) and im sorry, please close it is it has, but what certificate do you think spiderman 3 will be? Personally, i want it to be a 12+, because i dont want sam making venom and the plot and storyline, less deep and scary, just because some 3-11 year olds are going to be watching! Young people get scared so much eaiser, so thats why i dont want sam like "oh no,venom is way too scary in that design, add a pink ribbon and a dress!" I want the whole film to be scary and dark, like a horror in a way (with venom) and i dont want the certificate to ruin the entire film (the film will be great anyway, but it can be so much better if it was aimed for the 12+s .

I know the whole issue was raised when spiderman 1 was released, it being a 12 ( why exactly??? ) and then everyone young said they wanted to see it, so they invented 12a's, where a child younger than 12 can go see the film, if they are accompained by someone over 12. I really want it to be an older persons type of film, and ages 3-11 year olds are just going to have to wait untill it's released on DVD :woot: Thanks for reading (discussions?)

Indeed, PG-13 for the US, so I'm sayin your 12+ is a likely assumption.

But its Spider-Man, so ratings wont keep the people from viewing it.

Yeah thats right, but if the film was aimed towards younger people, the film would be less scary and the plot would e less deep (thats what im trying to say)

well since it's PG-13, it will be 12+ no doubt. most kids around that age see's these films anyway.

were the other films PG-13? (im starting to not understand PG-13s now!lol) In the uk. Spiderman 1 was a 12 (only people over the age of twelve were able to see it) and then they invented 12a because everyone was p***ed off that the crtificate was so high, and all the little people wanted to see the film, and spiderman 2 was a PG (anyone can see it, with parental guidance (PG) but they never do that anyway)

How do you know that?
well most of the kids I see come in the theatre the day I when't to see spidey1 in theatres and then the day I when't to see soidey2 in theatres, there were kids 11, 12, 13, etc. which is what they looked like. but I'm sure little kids can go see it to but I just hope they won't be scares of venom.

heck, I know of a diehard StarWars fan (4 years old) that went to see 3: Revenge of the Sith!

im gonna go now, (weird but its actually 10.24 PM over here in the uk) bye

I'm pretty certain both 1 & 2 were 12/12a in England, I don't think that wil change

It's going to be PG-13 in the States most likley which means PG for me. Ontario gives out the lowest ratings for movies in Canada. Both Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 were PG in Ontario so three will most likley follow that pattern.

PG13 seems fine by me.

Anyone who says it should be more is an asstard. I can't even be bothered to explain why.

If Blackheart can walk around in a PG-13 rated film and turn people into frozen lifeless husks of which we see every moment of them drying up and dying then we can see a Spider-Man film where people are impaled or beaten up severely towards the end. They got away with Norman being shoved through the crotch in the first, and I distinctly remember Wolverine having little to no skin over his bones in The Last Stand. So long as it doesn't step into the gore section (which I don't think even in a Goyer script treatment it ever would) this film is 100% destined for a PG-13 rating.

Now, the ratings of other countries in the worldwide release is something I admit no knowledge of. I suppose it would get whatever is deemed a 'teen-worthy' age. Unless we see Harry Osborn jut a sword into Brock's back and a shot of Brock's impaled and still-beating heart on the end of his blade with blood pouring out of every conceiveable orifice, I just can't imagine a moment where it would be an issue. On top of that, the films have never really treaded into the sexual and language censor issues where an R rating should ever be considered.

I'm still fighting for an R-rating someday, I won't give up until it's within my sight.

You've spoken of this many times before, but...why? Where could you think it would help the story? Where in the movie would it be essential to the plot? I mean, do you honestly want to see Peter pull out a samurai sword, chop Eddie in half and then spout off an 'ice-skating' remark? Or a full blown erotic scene with MJ? How would something like that help enwrap the audience Spider-Man is aimed towards in the film?
