Spidey/Hannah Montana crossover...
The Fantastic Four go to Disney World on vacation and get trapped in Magic Kingdom by Arcade who's turned the Happiest place on Earth into his own Murderworld!
The X-Men meet up theor newest recruit the Psychic Raven!
The Pirate Deadpool raids the S.S. Tipton while ranting about Kim Possible.
But on the other side we could get kickass Gargoyles comics...

This is really terrible news.

Now Disney is a great company, but when it comes to owning other things they really don't give a **** to put it bluntly(Everything they bought from Saban). All they want is Spider-man and Iron man. The rest is just junk they could care less about(like everything on FOX Kids they only wanted FOX Family).

I guess Iron Man and the X-men cartoons will be cancelled and after there runs on Nick are through. And the Paramount deal will come to a close after Thor.

10 bucks says the comic book arm of Marvel will be closed or at least 3/4 of the comics out now will be cancelled in five years.

Only good thing to come out of this is good animated movies about Marvel characters for once.

I'm hoping that they leave Marvel run its business like WB does with DC, and simply takes advantage of characters to use in cartoons/lunchboxes/toys etc...

Also, with Disney's financial backing, lower selling books "may" have longer shelf lives...

Walt Disney Pictures presents "Spider-Man"?

j/k

Well, to be honest, the character designs at least would pique my interest.

Animated Disney Marvel Movies!? That would be cool, but my biggest fear is:
Nick Jonas as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Kevin Jonas as Harry Osborn
Joe Jonas as Flash Thompson
Selena Gomez as Mary Jane Watson
Miley Cyrus as Gwen Stacy
Billy Ray Cyrus as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin
Demi Lovato as Betty Brant

This has the makings of an unmitigated disaster. Disney has a kid-friendly corporate image to uphold. What do you suppose that means for the comics? For creativity? If you didn't like Joe Q, just wait until the Overlords of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, et al get their grimey, four-fingered paws on the Marvel Universe.

Are they the latest members of the Mickey Mouse Club???

:csad:

This is THE WORST news I've ever heard in regards to Marvel. "Game over, man" as Bill Paxton would say. Disney's kiddie-friendly, squeaky-clean and risk adverse image coupled with quite corporate, conservative politics will bury the Spider-Man we knew. Honestly, all you people who complained about 'Brand New Day' (hah!)... you have seen NOTHING yet. This is so terrible it's hard to fully comprehend. I am at a loss. Worst news (comics related) I have heard in... well, ever. :csad::csad::csad::csad::csad::csad:

Edit: The days of mature, controversial, yet important stories (like "Something About a Gun", the Harry is addicted issues, "Mad Dog Ward") are over.

Also, Punisher fans? FORGET IT.

I forgot that older farts don't keep up with current Disney :cwink: my bad
Those guys are the current Top Disney Channel stars (Like the new Mickey Mouse Club but Too cool to call themselves that.) Younger siblings keep me up to date on most of this.
The Jonas Brothers (Three Brothers that sing, their concert movie was one big flop. They currently have one Disney Channel show called JONAS)
Selena Gomez (Star of the Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place. She starred with Demi Lovato on the Disney Channel Original movie Princess protection program. She also has a Disney singing career.)
Demi Lovato (Star of the Disney show Sonny with a Chance. Also has Disney Singing Career.)
Billy Ray Cyrus The guy who gave us Achy Breaky Heart. Father of Miley Cyrus who is better known as Hannah Montana. Holy crap I didn't notice that I placed both of them as Norman and Gwen on my worst fears cast!

I am just sick. Warner Brothers is at least a purveyor of adult entertainment. Disney is not. It could absorb Pixar without much of a problem. But Marvel? This is truly horrible news. I am hoping, truly hoping my fears proved entirely unfounded, but....

I'll take that as a compliment. But it's a refreshing change of pace from the normal BND is evil, BND Good arguments; even if it means doom for all Marvel...

I am a conservative with a 3 year old. I watch Disney and DisneyXD regularly. And I can honestly say that there is no 'corporate, conservative politics' at Disney. The Disney channel is MSNBC for kids. It's shows and public service announcements serve no other purpose than indoctrinating kids with liberal propaganda. Now, thankfully, my son is only 3 and starts to lose interest after Phineas and Ferb is over (a great show I can't recommend enough) but the blatant bias of their live action shows is shameless.
And I love how the corporate conservative myth refuses to die in a country where Bill Gates (the richest man on the planet) is a liberal democrat, McDonalds openly endorses liberal politics and the Democrat party is essentially owned lock stock and barrel by a billionaire named George Soros.
Disney is a megacorporation with many different companies under its umbrella. They created Touchstone Pictures to make more mature films and expand their market share. While I am not happy with this news at all, I hardly think Disney is going to tamper with a company with a dominant market share, profitable merchandising and viable Hollywood presence. Most likely, the Disney folks are going to market Marvels characters more, and sit back and collect the cash that rolls in.
And Marvel already censors their characters in the name of liberal political correctness. Notice how Nick Fury and Wolverine don't smoke cigars anymore? Queada banned it after his dad died from lung cancer. Tragic? Yes, but no excuse for censorship.

I'm hoping that they leave Marvel run its business like WB does with DC, and simply takes advantage of characters to use in cartoons/lunchboxes/toys etc...

That is really what I hope happens as well. If they stick their noses into the comics then it's really going to ruin things for comic fans, in my opinion. Lets just hope they keep their grubby hands off the comics.
