The original was one of my favorite movies as a kid, so I am definitely looking forward to this. Wish we could hear some of the other animals talk though (I wanna hear Christopher Walken as King Louie goddamnit! :argh:)

"Wow. I'm an. Orangutang. But I can. Talk. That's. Crazy. That way. But on TV. I'm a bartender. ... Why?"

Looks great I'm excited for this one, but I think I'm more excited for the Serkis one. Either way I really wanna see both.

Yeah Im interested in both. I really hope that Origins is more serious, and this one is more fun. If they both have a similar tone they might be kinda lame

Yeah I am expecting this one to be the more fun one and Origins to be more serious. Darker.

:funny:

Also, has anyone noticed how they've made him damn near Gigantopithecus size in this?

Im really curious how audiences will react. I think in the past, dueling movies of the same/similar property (Snow White and the Huntsman vs Mirror Mirror, Olympus Has Fallen vs White House Down, etc.) I dont think audiences usually latch onto both movies.

Yeah it depends. Like same with Deep Impact and Armageddon. I love Armageddon, didn't like Deep Impact.

Wow the footage was stunning :wow:. Everything looks so spectacular and cinematic. Absolutely love it :hrt:.

Looks fantastic! Cant wait to see more footage!

i think her voice doesnt fit the snake. or maybe i am just to used hearing her

I had the same reaction. I found her voice to be the only thing I didn't like about the trailer. Also kind of wtf with king kong louie

Baloo whistling bear necessities puts a big smile on my face for some reason.:D

The second movie usually under-performs or bombs. Armageddon was the exception but it was a completely different kind of film than Deep Impact with only the meteor in common. These will be two films made from the same books. I think WB was crazy to greenlight and make the Serkis version when they knew they'd wind up releasing it at least a year later than the Disney version.

its interesting that this version is the fun one yet it already looks serious. i expect the story and dialoge to be very fun.

how much serious and darker can a Jungle Movie look so that its for kids? and with Cumberbatch as the tiger and Bale as the panther?

It definitely seemed "wrong" to have a sultry young woman's voice emanating from a monstrous creature like Kaa. But IMO that disconnect between voice and appearance made the character much more terrifying than it would have been if a male had done the voice work.

"Where's Mowgli!!!"

"Your are a pawn, Bageera. You can't even guarantee the safety of your own pack. Now, shall we begin?"

"You're garbage who kills for money."

"You think your world is safe? It is an illusion. A comforting lie told to protect you. Enjoy these final moments of peace. For I have returned to have my vengeance."

"I came here to show you that not everyone in the jungle's afraid of you."

"Are you going to punch me again, over and over, until your paw weakens? Clearly you want to. So tell me, why did you allow me to live?"

"Tell me where the boy is. Then... you have my permission to die!"

Capote and Infamous is another good example. Both were excellent movies, one could even argue Infamous was better (and had bigger stars in it) but practically nobody saw it in its original release just because an earlier movie came out with the same basic subject matter.

There is something profoundly hilarious about Bill Murray, in bear form, drifting down a lazy river whistling a happy tune.

That wasn't CGI either; that's actually Bill Murray's alternate form, which he hasn't had the occasion to use until now.
