You missed the Evil Dead trilogy, which is all around awesome in my opinion.

You mentioned some solid trilogies. :(

DVD just in time for christmas!! Can't wait to have them all.

Yeah i'd Agree that Toy story is the best Trilogy..Well at least best animated trilogy..
Then I'd say the Original Star Wars and Lord of the Rings... and the soon to be Nolan Batman trilogy?...:awesome:

Spider-neil rated Return of the Jedi as ****ing awful! What has the world come to. :(

While the Toy Story trilogy ranks up there among the all-time best, I'm going to have to disagree with your assessment of other trilogies Spider-Neil.

Return of the Jedi was not awful. Not as good as the other two, but far from awful.

The Two Towers was the worst of the LOTR, I don't know what you are thinking. It goes brilliant, mediocre, and good for that trilogy.

Nice effort, but the bolded assessments of these trilogies are just crap. ROTK, ROTJ and Back to the Future part II are great movies. Temple of Doom isn't perfect, but it's still a fine installment. Alien 3 is crap.

First off, a trilogy is a single large-scale story told in three parts, or at least three movies very tightly linked, so Indiana Jones (which is four separate adventures) and Star Wars (which, like it or not, is a six-part story, not two distinct trilogies) don't count. Second, I'd put Toy Story right behind The Lord of the Rings as the greatest film trilogy to date. This is a truly impressive series, never made a misstep.

I always thought all the Back to the Future movies were awesome :o
on another note...Toy Story kicked butt this year.

As far as I'm concerned LOTR and this are the only perfect trilogies in my eyes.

Back in 1995 I was thinking why doesn't Toy Story look more real? We've seen what ILM could do on Jurassic Park in terms of realism, why can't Pixar do better. It took one animated films later to show that CG animated films could look more real, it was Ants, and a month or two after that a Bugs Life came out with cartoony ants. But you know, A Bugs life is a better film than Ants because it has better characters and a better story. While I was at the theater watching How to Train your Dragon, my cousin made a comment to me about how Dreamworks animation looks more real, as Pixar looks more cartoony as regards to UP.

What hurts the first two Toy Story films for me is the bad looking human characters. Aesthetically it's hard for me to watch the first two Toy Story's. That's why I didn't buy them on Blu-ray.....I guess that makes me a snob.

I don't get the Return of the Jedi hate. I honestly and genuinely don't get it.

I frickin' LOVE Return of the Jedi. It's my second favorite Star Wars movie (Empire being my #1).

I don't get it too, I love ROTJ!

Oh, Return of the Jedi is fantastic; not as fresh or exciting as A New Hope or Empire, but great. I'm not crazy about the Ewoks, but still, they serve their purpose.
