Disney's Disenchanted: Enchanted Sequel

Disney has paid Johnny Depp a hefty double-digit million dollar paycheck for the third and fourth POTC movies. Now granted, Amy Adams doesn't have nearly the pull Depp does, but they're not going to underestimate her asking price.

I'm a hardcore horror/action fanatic, but once my family dragged my but to go see this in theaters and i and i actually enjoyed it. Pretty cute move

I'm not sure about a sequel though.

Oh, they'd definitely give her a good offer, but they won't be going for her ala JOhnny Depp as you've said.

Didn't they want to add Giselle to the Disney Parks and Princess line, but they backed out cause they didn't want to pay Amy Adams money for her likeness?

EDIT: Ah, Majik already brought it up earlier in the thread.

The first one was good so i would give this a chance.

Seven years after Disney‘s live-action princess adventure Enchanted, Shrek 2 and The Smurfs writers J. David Stem and David N. Weiss have been hired to write Enchanted 2.

Amy Adams will probably return she said she always wanted a sequel. How time changes (seven years) they'll pay her for her likeness now most definitely.

I think that the success of Frozen probably had a lot to do with jump starting this project again. That was another "deconstruction movie" from Disney and it made a ridiculous amount of money. Also, both Adams and Dempsey have expressed interest in a sequel, but wanted it made before they got too old. I really liked the first movie, so I'm interested in this. I just wish that they would have gotten different writers than the one's that came up with those godawful Smurf movies.

Disenchanted anyone?

We’ve heard rumblings over the years of minimal movement on Enchanted 2, but now sources tell us that the project is seriously heating up over at the Mouse House. Anne Fletcher (The Proposal)remains attached to direct, and the studio is now in the process of punching up the script with the hopes that it will be in greenlight-ready shape very soon. What’s more, we know the current working title: Disenchanted.

Story details remain under wraps, and it’s still unclear exactly which cast members will return.

Do you think Giselle is still the main character in Enchanted 2?

Justice League aside, Amy Adams has no movies next year. I hope she can do the Janis Joplin movie next year.

Probably depends if they've sorted out Royalties right's with Amy. That's why Giselle isn't an offical Princess because Disney didn't want to pay her for her likeness on merchandise.

Oh and Amy is busy next year anyway, she has 3 movies coming out in 2016 ( BvS, Story of Your Life and Nocturnal Animals) so wouldn't worry about her not working in any official capacity aside for Justice League.:funny:

:ilv:I meant filming new movies for next year. I hope she can film the Janis Joplin movie.

Amy Adams said during one of her BvS press junket interviews that she has held talks with Disney about returning for 'Disenchanted' but no script has been presented to her.

Disney's Enchanted sequel enlists 'Rock of Ages' director Adam Shankman http://thr.cm/EjhSoh

Adam Shankman, the helmer behind Hairspray and Rock of Ages, is in negotiations to direct Disenchanted, the sequel to Disney’s 2007 musically-inclined fantasy that starred Amy Adams.
Adams is expected to return for the sequel, which Disney is hoping to get before cameras in summer 2017, several sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
Kevin Lima directed the original movie, which tackled the idea of a prototypical Disney princess thrust into the real-world, with songs and true love following.
Adams starred as Giselle who is due to marry her Prince Charming (James Marsden) when she is plucked from her animated world and into the live-action world of New York City. There she encounters a lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) who is due to marry someone totally wrong for him (Idina Menzel). The movie also featured Susan Sarandon as a Maleficent-style evil queen.
The movie featured songs by Alan Menken and grossed over $340 million worldwide ($127 million domestically). Disney has been developing a sequel since 2010 and Anne Fletcher was previously attached to direct.
Shankman is well-known to execs at Disney for his work as a director on light-hearted comedies Bringing Down the House, The Pacifier and Bedtime Stories. But he’s also shown a love for musicals with his all-star adaptations of Hairspray and Rock of Ages which had audiences humming in their seats.
Sources say Disenchanted is set ten years after the first movie, with Giselle finding herself questioning her happily ever after, and accidentally triggering events that make everyone's lives turn upside down in both the real world and in the animated kingdom of Andalasia.

I love Enchanted so much! So this is a must watch for me!

I hope Menken and Schwartz continue to do the score for this movie.

Well Menken will probably will be if we go by his interview during the B&B promo. But he will be kept busy. https://www.flickeringmyth.com/2017/03/interview-beauty-and-the-beast-composer-alan-menken/

You’re about to return to The Little Mermaid in 2018. What can we expect from that, and is there any other film that you feel you have unfinished business with or would just like to add to?

I think it’s possible that Aladdin might precede The Little Mermaid. Lin-Manuel Miranda, I knew him as a kid. He was fanatic about The Little Mermaid as a kid. He went to school with my niece, that’s how I knew him… he’s involved with Mary Poppins right now, so when he’s available and producer Mark Platt is available I’m sure we’ll get into that. But I don’t know who’s going to be directing it or who’s writing the script, so there’s so much left to be determined on that.

There’s discussion about Aladdin, there’s discussion about a sequel to Enchanted, and apparently another Little Shop of Horrors movie is in the works at Warner Bros. I’m also working on an original project at Universal.

I read on instagram Adam Shankman said he's doing this after finishing Step Up.

Last I heard they're still writing a script , so it's quite possible that they could start filming next summer. And last time out the animation took the longest to complete (More than a year). The live action scenes they finished filming in like six weeks.

Also Disney have dated their movies till 2019, so the movie release would be a log way off.

I don't know why they're even doing a sequel, I don't see what's left to tell in the story. It was a good one off film.

For the money. Amy herself said a few years back that she thought the first one was a perfect "one and done" film. But once the house of mouse ships boatload of dollars to your house, it's hard to say no.

Also there aren't many actresses that can say that have a franchise ongoing. I mean this is her franchise, she the OG princess.

Adam Shankman's new Instagram story today has him walking towards Disney Animation studio building.

Disney wants money. They are developing everything from their catalog.
