Also...did anyone notice the Superman returns billboard James was standing underneath. I don't know if that was on purpose or what.
And there was a
Hairspray billboard (although it was for the Broadway version, not the movie) across the street from the SR billboard.
The billboard for
Wicked was also visible. Stephen Schwartz wrote the songs for both
Wicked and
Enchanted.
Wicked also starred Idina Menzel, who played Nancy in the movie (she was also in
Rent, which there was a billboard up for as well).
I also noticed that the manhole cover in Times Square was conveniently located where the theaters for
Beauty and the Beast and
Tarzan were both clearly visible. Both shows have since closed, but
The Little Mermaid is set to open in one of those theaters next month.
Speaking of
The Little Mermaid, Patrick Dempsey's secretary was played by Jodi Benson, who was the voice of Ariel. I swear I heard "Part of Your World" playing in the background during the scene in the lobby.
When Edward is knocking on all the doors looking for Giselle, the pregnant woman who opens the door and says "You're too late!" is Judy Kuhn, who was the voice of
Pocahantas.
And I saw her name in the credits, but I'm not sure where she was...but Paige O'Hara, who was the voice of Belle in
Beauty and the Beast, also has a cameo.
The opening and closing narration was by Julie Andrews, who was Mary Poppins. The couple who wound up not getting divorced were Mr and Mrs Banks, which was the same last name as the parents in
Mary Poppins.
That was a fun movie for a Disney fan.
