Disney's Frozen - Part 1

Yep. Just got the director from Bolt as a co-director...which seems kind of late in the game.

We have many superhero films coming out in the coming months. By the time Pixar does The Incredibles sequel, superhero fatigue maybe a very likely possibility.

What are snowbees?
In Hans Christian Andersen's 'The Snow Queen', snowbees are living snowflakes that are controlled by The Snow Queen and in some versions take shape of different animals or objects. They are known for their buzzing sound hence their name.

How To Train Your Dragon is better than most Pixar movies and The Croods tops Monsters U, Brave and Cars 2 so no.

Sorry, but I didn't find HTTYD to be better than most Pixar movies, with the only exception being Cars 1 & 2. It's a very pedestrian movie imo.

Doubt it. Superheroes are such a huge part of our culture at the moment.

I read a study a few months back which suggested that superhero popularity is directly related to people's negative opinions on the world. Their hypothesis was that the more of a cynical view society has on current events, the more superhero popularity grows, with it reaching peaks during the Depression/WWII, the Civil Rights movement in the 1960's, the Cold War peak of the 1980's, and the current recession.

Going by that, I don't see superhero fatigue kicking in anytime soon. :yay:

Oh, that's interesting. I bet you're right, that's probably what they were.

I sure hope not.

Loved the movie but Disney's fairy tale stories are "complete" as it were. They're iconic cause there are no more (I don't count the horrible DTV sequels). Doing a short sequel (ala Tangled Ever After) is fine but please no Frozen 2. Would be as bad as a Snow White 2 or a Pinocchio 2 or Aladdin 2.

There WAS an Aladdin 2. It was a direct to VHS release called The Return of Jafar.

There was also a TV series based on the movie.

Cinderella's had two sequels, too.

ETA: Oh, sorry, just saw you're not counting the DTV movies. Although I think a sequel's a sequel and they should count, too.

I am starting to wonder if Frozen might catch DM2 domestically. If it does, it will end up a top 5 all time animated film domestically. That would be insanely impressive. I also think it would be most deserving.

Anyway to slice it, it is a huge success. Going to do over $600m worldwide. Impressive, most impressive.

Shouldn't matter. It would be a sequel to arguably Pixar's finest film. People would take notice.

It's also the one Pixar film that most people WANT to see a sequel to. Cars getting a sequel split people, a lot of people think that Finding Nemo doesn't need a sequel either (although many, including me, are ok with it). However, whenever the subject of Pixar sequels comes up, the first movie that almost everyone mentions is The Incredibles. Heck, the movie set up a potential sequel with it's ending.

Very, very true. The ending basically teased one. Other then Star Wars VII, I honestly can't think of anything I want a sequel to more.

They won't do it without Bird.

I'm pretty sure Incredibles 2 would be a hit.

HUGE hit.

MEGA hit!!

It's a no brainer, and I'm surprised we still haven't got a sequel yet.

when did Incredibles come out?

didn't it come out around the time when the Pixar-Disney partnership was nearing its end, and we weren't sure about the future of Pixar films? of course, Disney later bought up Pixar.

but I thought that maybe that had something to do with it not getting a sequel right away.

The Incredibles would have came out ten years ago this year.
