I figured it would have been Celine singing B+B, since her version became the "iconic" version.

Found these on an Elsa fan's facebook page.

Early 3d models of Elsa? :wow:

These conceptual pics confirmed the fact that originally they had conceived Elsa as a villain in the beginning, but thanks to Let It Go they decided to revise their Elsa into a more tragic figure. Good thing they did, because it changed the movie for the better.

yep!!

although........those 3d models show that even early "evil" Elsa was pretty cute!!

however, it's nothing compared to what we ultimately got. no way you can beat this:

I think those early models also confirm that Elsa did have silver/white hair at one time. and even when her model changed to the current form, it seems the silver/white hair color remained initially.

that's probably why a lot of the early merchandise/promo material has Elsa with silver/white hair ( and sometimes pale or "purplish" skin tone, which is also in one of those 3d models ).

Don't think it was just because of Let It Go, cause I was reading about the making of the film, and it did say they were going to make her a villain, but everyone felt it was missing something, and someone suggested making them sisters, and that is what did it.

The first two don't really have much of a "villainous" vibe to them. In fact, they're kind of cute in their own right. The third one, yeah she kind of looks like a villain in that one.

no, from what I've read, even when they made them sisters, initially, Elsa was still going to be the villain. but she'd reform in the end.

it wasn't until Let It Go that they decided to make her good and a secondary protagonist.

there's other concept art out there, where Elsa has a hairstyle similar to the 1st 2 models I posted above. in one those, she's behind Anna with a somewhat mischievous look on her face. and in another, Anna's on her knees and Elsa's blasting her head with ice while seeming to laugh about it.

Fair enough, I haven't seen those.

and Elsa as the "bad sister" was going to have a totally different personality.

she was going to be more bitter, stubborn, arrogant, with a "blame everyone else" attitude.

Let It Go, it seems, was originally going to be her big "villain song." where she basically says "Screw it! I'm tired of being miss perfect princess. I'm gonna be bad." or something like that.

Instead, Let it Go was here "screw it, being the perfect princess has caused me nothing but misery, now I'm just going to do whatever the hell I want in the mountains." song.

while letting my hair down and feeling sexy!! :awesome:'

although, it seems, Elsa didn't really think the whole thing through.....

I mean......just what WAS she going to do up in her ice palace.......alone........all by herself.

She probably left her limited edition Arctic Blue Nintendo 3DS back at the palace.

and her secret stash of chocolate............

plus where's the shower?? the bathroom??

no tv.

no computer.

no internet.

no smartphone.

how would she have survived??!!

Well, she could have always conjured up more living snow/ice creatures to keep her company. Maybe raided the royal library from time to time for reading materials.

Well, in the Reprise version of the song For The First Time In Forever, Elsa's conversation with her sister Ana revealed that she just wanted to be left alone, and without causing anymore trouble to her sister or anyone. It is very far from being a wicked person, but she is a victim of her "curse", and a real sympathetic figure.

the irony of the story is, by building the ice palace and going there to be "alone and free," Elsa really wasn't free. she had essentially traded one cage for another.

Only when she replaced the fear and turmoil in her heart with love, and learned to control her powers, and mended the relationship with her sister, did she truly become free.

So, kind of like Bruce Banner/The Hulk.

I think this is what they meant when they said the theme of the movie is "fear vs hope".

So, kind of like Bruce Banner/The Hulk.

Yeah, I can see the parallel between the two characters.

yeah. and I liked that approach.

of course, Elsa's way hotter than the Hulk........just sayin. :o

Elsa also reminds me of DC's Raven, from the Teen Titans.

she, too, has to constantly battle the inner fear and turmoil inside of her due to her dark/demonic nature. And one thing that helps is the support/love/friendship of her fellow Titans.

And like Elsa's, Raven's powers are based on her emotions.
