Disney's Frozen - Part 2

I know Frozen has opened in Japan yet. Usually American animated films go well over there.

hope it does well in Japan to help boost it to the $1b total mark.

So I've seen Frozen more than enough times to finally admit I like it more than Tangled. But Tangled is my #2 Disney movie, so it's not like it dropped significantly or anything. That being said, Rapunzel is still my favorite princess. I honestly don't think that will ever change.

Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to cry myself asleep as I have found out my theater will finally drop Frozen after tomorrow. Thankfully the Lego Movie comes out this weekend.

South Korea still packing them in. Frozen passed 6.6 million admissions Thursday, which puts it as the 8th highest Hollywood movie of all time and by far the biggest animated movie ever released in SK.
Presales for the weekend suggest another 1 million admissions, when Frozen tops 8 million it will move up to #3 for biggest Hollywood movies. If it can keep screens it could end up over 9m admissions (multiply admissions by about $7.50 for US dollar totals).

I saw it 9 times already and is now one of my favorite Disney animated movies.

I am so in love with Elsa as she is the hottest Disney chick i've seen next to Jasmine, Jessica Rabbit, Ariel, Belle, Kida from Atlantis, Esmerelda from Hunchback and so on.

so it looks like Frozen really boosted Disney's latest earnings!!

no more princess movies my ass.........:o

Yup, Tangled cost about the same as Frozen and Tangled was profitable. Add another 400m boxoffice and way higher soundtrack and merchandise sales and Frozen is a massive money maker.
When all is said and done, and taking into account all forms of revenue, Frozen may become the most profitable single movie Disney has ever had.
Money is just pouring in from every direction.
I can't wait to see the DVD/Blue Ray sales.

Frozen certainly is a beast!!

and it's even more impressive considering that the pre release hype didn't seem to be on full throttle, or at least it didn't seem to be from my perspective.

With DM2, it seemed those Minions were EVERYWHERE advertising that movie.

Frozen didn't really seem to be that visible. And it seemed fairly late in the game when they released the proper trailers for the film.

I remember talking to a friend, who's a movie buff, a mere 2 weeks before the release date, and she had no idea Disney was coming out with a new princess movie.

Needless to say, I was getting worried about Frozen's chance of success at the BO.

looks like I had nothing to worry about........lol.

The pre-release marketing could have been better. I remember seeing a trailer and posters that made it seem like it was about Olaf and that pretty much turned me off of it until I started hearing great things.

oh yeah. if you just went by the 1st teaser, you'd think it would be about the hijinks of Olaf and Sven.

I remember the Japanese released their own trailer around that time that showed way more about the film and Elsa/Anna. IOW......it was an actual, real live trailer! And I was saying........how come we didn't get that??!!

I was starting to lose interest a bit, too, until they finally released the "Elsa Trailer."

THAT finally got my attention.

of course.........anything with Elsa will get my attention.........:o

I'm a bit glad now that I only saw the Olaf and Sven trailer. While it turned me off, when I did end up seeing it, it was the first time in ages I've seen a film where I hadn't seen any footage from it.

wow!!

I'm the opposite. I like to look up, read, and watch as much stuff as possible!

I'll even peek at the ending if it's available.....lol.

heck....when they posted the screenplay of Frozen online, I read that sucker right away!

No kidding. I literally knew nothing about Frozen when I saw it.
Despite seeing several animated movies (The Croods, Epic, Despicable Me 2) none of them had the Frozen trailer. I hadn't bothered with any of the Frozen threads on the boxoffice forum or even seen so much as a TV spot until 2 days before release.
That 1 tv spot mentioned Kristen Bell, that was enough to make me decide to give it a shot that weekend.
I still didn't look up anything about the movie so I went into it "cold", I didn't even know it was a musical until it started.
As soon as it ended I wanted to see it again, and would have had it not been sold out until the 10 pm show. I ended up buying a ticket for the next day.
Frozen marks the first time an animated movie has been my favorite movie in a given year.

I often do that. However, I decided to see Frozen days before I did so there wasn't a long anticipation for it like there is with most CBM's, where I keep up with the news constantly. I knew the main point of the film was Anna and Elsa's relationship but that was about it.

Same for me.

I just ordered tickets to have a Frozen double feature tomorrow. Sing-along first then the regular version about 40 minutes later. I'll have to sit through to the end credits scene this time during the sing-along showing, since I don't have to race out to catch a bus.

I'm planning on a Lego/Frozen double feature, just need to figure out the best timing.

Wednesday numbers are out, in typical fashion Frozen behaves completely different from "normal" movies by increasing from Tuesday for no apparent reason.:wow:

It is up 9% from Tuesday with $576,407 while almost every other movie had a standard -10% to -20% drop.

Sounds like that'll be fun. I'm going to wait a few weeks to see The Lego Movie so that the theater will be emptier. Rather excited to see that now that I've seen the stellar reviews it's been getting.

I'd love if this ends up breaking a billion.

There's only one explanation.....

Frozen's DEFYING GRAVITY!!! :woot:

No need for hope, I can already predict my reaction: "10/10, even better the third and fourth time!" :oldrazz:
