Disney's live-action "Mulan"

What a coincidence this was announced as soon as crazy rich asians became successful

The gay community was up in arms over never seeing "I'll make a man out of you" in live action.

Can I be honest? I was a bit sad we would miss out on hot Shang.

Now the question is Mushu gonna be voiced or just an animal sidekick?

I hope voiced. I mean why not, the animals could talk in the jungle book

I'd like to know what they mean by "featured". Does that mean the characters will actually sing or will they just be playing some of the music under some scenes?

I note with interest it says 'some' music, not that it's a musical. It could just be orchestral versions of the songs based on that info. At least the side kick character looks to be in.

Reflection has to be in there. It was the staple song of the animated one. :argh:

Huge if true. I'm glad they aren't getting rid of the best and most memorable character of the original movie, the bug.

That's who we've been angling for since this remake was even mentioned. Hart, I mean.

Not sure why the dragon has the be voiced by a black comedian?

Because we want to maintain that sense of wacky black dude that Murphy brought to it.

Less a black comedian, and more a fast talking, cocky comedian which is the opposite of the visual of a tiny, weak dragon. Kevin Hart also happens to be the most popular comedian at the moment like Eddie Murphy was.

It'd be absolutely hilarious if Kevin got the role of Donkey in the supposed Shrek reboot.

I’m actually surprised Eddie Murphy and Kevin Hart haven’t done a buddy-buddy movie yet.

Random thought - Awkwafina could probably deliver the fast-talk if Kevin Hart is unavailable.

No to Kevin, big yes to awkwafina. More girl power and less fear of his daughter figure (mulan) turning gay

According to rumors the budget for this movie will be around $300 million. That would be insane, and not very smart of Disney.

I love the original Mulan but it's not that popular.

Why on earth would they be spending so much money on this thing? $300m is absurd.

Half of that budget would probably go to the avalanche scene. :funny:

Its Disney, 300m is 30 bucks to them. And this movie is gonna smash Internationally

By internationally you mean China, lol. Let's not make out Mulan was anywhere near the level of the earlier Disney films from the 90's.
