I actually liked this trailer. I saw more of the magic, though the color palette is still not quite what I would’ve wanted from a Peter Pan movie. When Tick Tock showed up I yelped lol.

Overall it was good. Could've been better of course.

Majority of the changes i liked and felt natural.

Getting rid of the mermaids....shame.

Tinkerbell being stripped of most of her attitude that's made her as iconic as she is....big shame.

Neverland should've felt more magical.

It's rainy and gloomy out where I am. Perfect afternoon to watch a movie so I gave this a try. I didn't love it but I thought it was okay, definitely on the better end of the Disney live action remake spectrum. It's a fine way to kill an hour and a half, I wasn't all that impressed but at the same time there wasn't a whole lot that I didn't like other than Tinkerbell feeling underused and not enough musical callbacks to the original movie outside of "You Can Fly". Ever since I was a kid my favorite aspect of Peter Pan was always the crocodile and I thought he was really well done here so that was a positive takeaway along with the performances of Peter and Wendy. I thought Law was good but I wish he was more over the top like Hook should be but I did find the backstory they gave him interesting.

How does it compare to the 2003 version? I thought that seemed to capture a lot of the magic of the story.

The 2003 version is vastly superior and what you would expect from Disneys version. It's like they stripped 90% of the magic and fun from the 2003 version. Basically an adult telling with no real imagination but strong character work.

As far as live action Peter Pan adaptions, I'd go with the 2003 version over this. Hook too even though that's more of a de facto sequel.

By no means was this as bad as Pinocchio, but it just felt lifeless. The character interactions seemed disconnected and worst of all, Wendy is the most interesting character in the entire film. The 2003 film is by far leaps and bounds better than this, but it’s still better than Pan.

Lowry just wasn’t right for this. Neverland should be colorful/magical and a Peter Pan movie should be more fun. It’s not a bad film just one that I’ll prolly never rewatch.

I thought this was very good and beautiful. A lot was like the animated movie but a lot was a new approach, which a lot people criticise as missing on the live action adaptions.
The cinematography was beautiful. I think if they would’ve created a fantastical world it would’ve looked fake like a lot other movies, which were shot in the Mandalorian screen.
The locations mostly looked reall.

I saw this on Friday right when it came out and I honestly don't know how to feel about. There are aspects I rather like, but overall I felt it was super generic. Not just being a "remake" but beyond that. Like Tiger Lily sort of just being that and being cool in action scenes, without being given a chance to be a character beyond it.

I thought Law was miscast for the vast majority, until the last act. Where I felt like he came alive and really added something to the tale.
