Disney's Peter Pan and Wendy from David Lowry

The vast, and I mean vast, amount of that would have been from Pinocchio.

And quite frankly, Disney always had their tax write off movies. Its just easier to just toss them on streaming now than to actually pay for marketing.
I don't know. I feel like the domestic takes on Disenchanted and Hocus Pocus could've been decent. People, especially families, crave holiday merriment and nostalgia.

They could but it's probably too late to set up a theatrical release. A lot of these deals were made back a couple years ago where all the streaming services were making sh** exclusively just fill their library. Now that covid isn't that big of a deal and everyone is back outside, the value of streaming is not really there anymore but they still have to fulfill the deal they made. So now we have movies like Peter Pan, Disenchanted, and Prey that are unfortunately going only to streaming.
Yeah. makes sense. Would probably require opening up the contracts and paying more, and that ain't happening. Prey and this are going to be the ones that get me. I really wish I could've seen Prey in theaters.

I was trying to think what this reminded me of, and I think I finally got it. Stardust, which was the closest thing to a modern The Princess Bride I can remember.

I don’t know. It’s kind of lacking any “magic” if that make sense. It actually looks and feels more like the 2015 Pan than I expected. This is all based on a trailer of course, but after Pinocchio, I don’t have too much faith unfortunately.

These remakes have been all misses for me thus far, but this looks worthwhile just for the visuals alone. Some of those shots are stunning.

I don’t care what anyone says, I love Hook.
Hook is one of those movies that adults didn't really seem to care for much when it came out but kids who grew up with it have loved it since the beginning. I also think people have been more kind to it after Robin Williams's passing.

Hook fans stick together

It takes way too long to get to Neverland and the main plot. The performances are strong for the most part. I think people were expecting a zany Robin Williams as Peter Pan performance and instead got something much more subdued.

I get the criticism but it's one of those nostalgic movies that I could never hate on because I grew up with it (see also: The Goonies). Also Dustin Hoffman is IMO the best Captain Hook we've ever gotten on screen.

Honestly the best Peter Pan film after the original animated feature is Hook with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman.

Hook is so overrated (except Dustin Hoffmans performance). Never been a fan of it - I was 9 when it came out.
The effects and concepts look so lazy imho…Spielberg had already more focus on Jurassic Park and Schindlers list and brought more passion into those 2 projects during filming this.

There is a certain charm to sets that look like sets, imo.

I plan to watch this just like the other remakes but it doesn't look eXciting.
