A tester huh? lol What ever video game testing company or outsource firm of that like he/she was working for, if they find out he'll be homeless( money wise he won't be in agood place it's literally costly) if charges aren't brought up on him. That's a stupid move. And if he was planning to move further in the industry he just earned him self a block path there. Oh well , I'm sure they warned him/her about that. But some people are too stupid not under stand that.

He didnt clarify who did the test but confirmed it wasnt Ninja Theory. Think it was more of a random market research type thing.

Dont think these new rumors are same person.

Ether way he/she shouldn't be talking. Any way best to ignore that for now.

The demo was pretty fun, I might pick this up if it gets good reviews & it's not short. Old Dante is still cooler, but the new one doesn't seem all too bad. Unless this game is a massive hit, I think we'll be seeing old Dante soon.

I thought the demo was pretty awesome. I've never played a Devil May Cry game before, and I thought this was pretty cool.

What a bastardization to Dante this alt universe is.

What's so wrong with the new Dante? Actually the design has grown onto me and I like it quite a bit more than the original, give the game a chance

Finally got around to playing the demo. I'll never get over the new look Dante as I much preferred the old look but it doesn't matter too much as this new guy is everything the old Dante was. Deff gonna pick this up at some point.

I got an SSS rank, in Son of Sparda difficulty, on the boss battle, but I still can't complete the first level in this setting without dying at least once. Those flying bastards keep shooting projectiles at me and I didn't find a way around it yet. I learned some new moves that aren't on the move list, too. Like the stinger.

The demo was a LOT of fun IMO. The gameplay mechanics were flawless and diverse and the boss fight in the second level was just awesome. Hell, even the parts where the city in the first level was literally trying to kill you was so trippy it was brilliant! I'm also enjoying playing as Dante in PlayStation All-Stars, btw (I won a code for from the Twitter trivia contest Sony held last week). Overall, this should be a lot more promising of a reboot that I thought it would be. Bring it on!

oh and in this video they said for us all to not consider the old DMC abandoned.

that new weapon looks cool. Their like blades( from the recent anime not the movie) glaves.

I thought it was funny that Dante was playable first in PS All Stars before his own game

that video also shows use of gauntlets as well. The glave combat look freaking sick btw.

That glave is freaking sick. I have a feeling that it'll be my favorite weapon.

I thought Dante Must Die would be a little more punishing. At least it seemed like that in DMC3. I'm glad we have checkpoints, though. It's something that will save me from utter frustration.

No demo on Steam, I'm disappointed
Hopefully, there will be one next month

This "iteration" does nothing to further the story of Dante and his friends.

It isnt meant to as these arent the same characters and its neither a sequel or prequel to the previous games

That's cause it's not. this is a do over. the start all over from fresh. They never said it was to further the original series . But as I put up recently, if you have read any thing here after you posted this, they said not to assume the old universe of the original DMC series abandoned.

So what exactly is even the point of introducing an alternate universe Dante? I'm failing to see the reasoning for going away from the real Dante and his exploits?

bc they wanted to westernize the series and make it appeal to a broader audience, so Capcom contracted an outside team to reboot it and create something new, not shackled by the previous games. They are also hoping to get better sales as they were stated as being dissappointed with how DMC4 did

So they made Dante emo/punk to Westernize him?

Listen. The art direction for this game looks stellar, and so does the combat system. All they needed to do was put in more effort. Add these improvements to a story about the characters we have come to know and love, and THEN you got a game going.

This game won't sell because they ****ed with the fans, and that pisses me off. Game companies use proceeds from previous games to fuel new ones. Now

The problem is most fans now come on and say DMC4 wasn't that bad these days. They just didn't want to back track with Dante in the same area's when the y beat bosses with Nero prior to it. Compared to DMC2 which is what really did damage to the series and what's really complained about these days . Anyway too bad a lot of those peeps sat back when DMC4 was over hyped in complaints. it wasn't as bad as what as said then.

Any way, look, they said not to consider the old universe abandoned, so they will revisit the old series at some point, but they are in the business of making money. So for now this is what we have, let them get this done and over with. The old series will be back in our sights some day soon.
